Turffontein switched to the Vaal Sunday!!

Looks a very turf card
Earl of Surrey should take a bit of beating and Furling Sail to get of the mark
What you fancy guys?
Play well

Weather was not very good last night and going might be soft, I agree with your fancies Bob plus hope Cappoquin runs well.
Will watch Hong Kong first
good punting!

Watching starters orders, and listening to Joe Soma venting about the handicapper,he obviously has still not quite got the difference between 'race figures' and 'merit rating'
A bit late to object to the new system I think!
(The worst thing that ever happened to my punting was the changeover to MR so I would also love to go back to the old system......but surely he should understand the difference.)

I guess there will be plenty of scratchings now?
Better than loosing the meeting altogether?
Umlilo, why are you high on Furling Sail? I don't fancy it much at all. What am I missing?

1600m races become 1700m
3000m race becomes 3200m
Can someone confirm this please?

Yes Greg, that is correct. I guess they've done it to keep the (formerly) 1600m races around the turn. Tommy, while I wouldn't bet the Xmas bonus on Furling Sail I do think he has been crying out for two miles. I reckon the switch to the Vaal with its almost endless straight will suit him even better, he has no gears but he looks like he could go around the course twice.

Yip I'm with you Magic, but I feel that if he has not won against very modest maidens, I find it hard to believe that he will be competitive against hard knocking older horses?
I may be wrong however and I'm sure getting weight from some hard knocking handicappers will be in his favor.
I'm going to take the opinion that he may run a place.....no more for me.
