I have often gone to the ‘Winning Streak’ Which is in Isando right opposite the KFC .. (about 200 meters off Barbara Road) .Its on the left hand side if you are going from Jhbg to Oliver Tambo International airport....Its off the R21 Highway..........
It is owned by Denton Lowenstein , who has been in bookmaking business for many, many years. He is of ‘ the old school’ and a proper scholar and a gentleman.
He is ably assisted by Jean (sorry Greg and Chicken this Jean is A boy). They never quibble about a stretch etc .No trouble allowed and anybody behaving poorly is soon sorted out.
The place is very clean ,well set out, with plenty of big screens and adequate seating. The parking is plentiful and safe (as safe as it can be in good old SA).
A brilliant well stocked bar ,with sufficient screens so one doesn’t even have to leave the area. There is no food on site but can be ordered from any local take away and is delivered promptly.
The tote is very well run, always has cash to pay out and no long queues. All staff pretty jacked up and not full of strop.

When it is December holidays or when I come down for the July...I avoid most of the Durban tatts, service is poor, clerks have no idea what 'Bookmakers Odds' and most of all I guess I am too comfortable punting in Jhb where a double stretch is a norm(except for Betting World and Hollywood).
