HELP NEEDED....

Who was that grey filly that Nicholas trained that won 7 in a row and had the streak broken by Dashing Hussar ?

Can anybody tell me????

Don`t know the answer but we had a grey/white horse thread running last year maybe there will be a clue here

I think the hold up is "who is Nicholas?"

Doesn't he mean the "extravagant" older gentleman who used to train at turffontein and who used to always wear a panama hat to the races?

I know Buddy Maroun trained Geordoba and I have a feeling the horse looked pretty similar to her????

I don't know but I'm sure he trained a white filly at some stage?

The very dapper Johny Nicholson.He had some great sprinters in his time but too far back for my memory now!

I remember the horse running in green colours but for the life of me cannot remember the filly?

Was it maybe one of the following.... Enchanting, Feminist, Our Prerogative, Lady Of Habits or Winter Lass.I know Bartie rode for Nicholson and maybe this was one of them......(I know there were other trainers of some of these but its the best I can do).

The only one I think i can associate with Nicolson is Feminist?
Or was she trained by the Leishers?

I believe you are spot on with the name of the colour holder Rob, but the name of that horse still escapes me. Strangely enough we had a colt running (and beating) a johnny nicolson horse. In fact I think the horses name was "Fork Lightening", not "Forked Lightening", one or the other, I cannot remember. I believe he was owned by the late Laurie Jaffee. He was quite a decent sprinter and won quite a few.
