Late comeback from Hughes 3/1 and Hanagan 1/5
Final day, Hughes is 2 behind and seven a piece for today (could we have a magnificent 7)?
RICHARD HUGHES will enter the final day of the Flat season two winners behind jockeys' title leader Paul Hanagan after completing a 37-1 treble at Wolverhampton on Friday evening.
Coral make Hanagan 1-5 to land the title and Hughes 3-1 to overhaul him.
Hughes has dragged his chances back from the brink after beginning the Wolverhampton card four winners behind Hanagan, who completed a double at Southwell earlier in the day.
Hughes had received a boost to his chances at Wolverhampton when gaining an extra three rides in addition to the ones secured by his agent on Thursday evening.
Hughes proceeded to steer 11-10 favourite Colour Scheme to a clear victory in the concluding maiden after earlier winning on Towy Boy and Pipers Piping.
Hughes's relief at closing the gap back down to two was palpable and he said: "That's brilliant. Things could not have gone much better tonight. It's still all to play for."
Hanagan made it tough for Hughes, though. He took advantage off Hughes being absent from Southwell with wins on Sloop Johnb and Diggeratt and also rode Home Office to success at Wolverhampton to complete his own 97-1 treble.
The championship now comes down to the final day of the Flat season at Doncaster on Saturday where both have seven rides.

Well you could maybe get 4/1 Hughes
4000/1000 would be 2000/500
so you could still win 1500 less tax if Richard wins or draws

You could win 2000 less tax, then less 500.

Seems like the starting stalls can malfunction anywhere? At least the commentator was mortified about what happened.....Quote: "It makes UK horseracing look like amateur night, it is a shambles"
If that had happened in SA nobody would have batted an eyelid
I cannot catch Richard Hills right to save my own life
