Who is the most consistent jockey in South Africa?

Who is the most reliable jockey in South Africa? I have backed horses that looked a dead certainty but when the race run the horse either gets trapped against the rail or hits a brick wall in the last 200m.

There where also races where you can see that the jockey is giving his best but the horse just did'nt have more to give, but there are also those races where it looks as if the jockey is just not interessted.

Who is the jockey that is the most consistent with his/her rides?

i agree with scotia on marcus... and i think stuart randolph is a fair jock.

They are all quite consistent imo,not many poor riders with the lack off opportunities..

The rest are either open to bribery, have pulled a horse, will drop their reigns 200 out.
Some have been spoken to about their sms tipping service, their association with bookmakers, association with punters, some even had to pay R2m cheque to SARS for presents received over a 4 month period.

Not the little angels the public perceive them to be!

OK very vague this post here but jocks can be consistently bad on all point mentioned or consistently good.

In my opinion the are like any sportsman they have good days and bad day and as such so do the horses they ride.

Good jocks just have better mounts or Agents

Bad Jocks either have bad attitudes or bad luck.

Andrew Fortune ranks as the most the talented as long as he is clean and is very strong in finished.
Marcus can place horses better than most and find gaps other dont.
Strydom can judge pace better than most.

Tough because could be liable but jocks that abuse horses piss me off.

Jp vd merve for me he reminds me a lot of Strikers early days in jhb.
This little chap Jp , when he gets on a horse he will ride the horse in a way that no matter what limitations the animal has he gets it to give of its best .
This guy just seems to get them to run for him .

Another is Smanga Khumalo , when given the chances he does well .
