Clairwood 3rd October

Gents -

We have La Pucelle running on Sunday in the 8th. The horse is well but has to concede weight all round.
Though we have Marcus on board the weight is still our concern.
I see someone was trigger happy and claimed her from 33/10 to 22/10. Good luck to them. Definitely not our money. We will wait till race time
West End and Pocket of Pound has La Pucelle beat on the turnaround in weights.

Hoping for another honest run.
Let,s hope we can round off the weekend with a win for Clan members.

When you guys get a chance to look at the card, it would be interesting to hear your opinions on race 3.

Even though this is its first run out of the maidens and against older horses, I think De La Danza will have a shout. The more fancied older horses like Imperial Dice, Smart Al and Va Va Voom are either coming off of rests or are not yet proven beyond a mile. De La Danza has won over 1950 m and is probably more racing fit at the moment.

I thought this was a wide open card, but Famous Words has the beating of Tamora on past form at the same track and appeals as the best of the day. Iron Grey looks the part, especially with Beaches drawn closer to a beach than the grandstand. I've always thought that Lion In Winter has buckets of ability and he now races for the first time since being gelded. I reckon he can defy the weight in that field if he's 100%. I don't see why Pocket A Pound can't win again at the weights, but all the best to eastexpo with La Pucelle.:)-D

Hey Guys

Race 1 Iron Grey
Race 7 Be Assured

E/way bet Race6 Orbit war.

Kevin Shea has taken a few of Jessica Goslets mounts. Could somebody please tell what has happened to the rule where a jockey can only be substituted by a like jockey. No disrespect to Jessica but she is not in the same class as Kevin.

Like for like may be something from the past. You're either a jockey or an apprentice I think. How 'good' a jockey is or may be is a matter of opinion.

[code:tunvagel]
GUIDELINES FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF RIDERS
The guidelines are to be read in conjunction with RULE 55.2 and are as follows :
1. Any JOCKEY (including a non-claiming APPRENTICE) may replace any JOCKEY.
2. Should there be no JOCKEY available an APPRENTICE will be allowed but a
1,5Kg claiming APPRENTICE will be allowed in preference to a 2,5Kg and 4,0Kg
claiming APPRENTICE. APPRENTICES claiming 4,0Kg who have not completed
their qualifying rides will not be allowed as a replacement for a JOCKEY.
3. Any APPRENTICE may replace any APPRENTICE except that a non-claiming
APPRENTICE may not replace an APPRENTICE who has not completed his
qualifying rides and vice versa.
4. If there is no APPRENTICE available then a JOCKEY may replace the
APPRENTICE except in the case of 4,0Kg claiming APPRENTICE who is still
doing qualifying rides.
5. The SB shall have the right to veto any change of RIDER after 08:30 on a raceday
should they have a suspicion that there might be any malpractice involved. The
decision of the SB, in this instance, shall be final.
[/code:tunvagel]
[code:tunvagel]
55.2 In the event that the RIDER of a HORSE engaged and declared to ride in
terms of RULE 55.1 is unable to ride such HORSE, a change of RIDER may
be made prior to 09:00 on the day of the RACE by the OWNER or TRAINER of
the HORSE who shall advise such change to the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE
RACING OPERATOR or the SB. Thereafter a change of RIDER may be
authorised by the chairman of the SB in accordance with the guidelines which
appear in the Appendices to the RULES.
(Amended 02/08/2007)
