CnC
yes he won it, and i backed it. I had £75 eachway on at Ladbrokes as they were best price this morning. However this does not take away frpom the fact that he rode our horse without listening. Arrived in the parade ring late and fed us bollocks after the race.
On the other hand
Dream ahead is a superstar,
i had £300 on it on debut and that day i rang 2 SA mates here and told them i had seen a very decent 2 year old. Today as i said i had £75 eachway. I will follow this horse for ever, he has the right temperament and could just be ver special.
I wonder how good he would be if Buick was not on?????

Yes, he did. I posted this over on the Arlington (Not PE) thread. I'll ask the same question here, then - could Gr 1 wins on two continents over the same weekend be some kind of record?

Dream Ahead gives Simcock first Group 1
Report: France, Sunday
Deauville: Darley Prix Morny (Group 1) 6f, 2yo
DREAM AHEAD, winner of a Nottingham maiden last month, provided trainer David Simcock with his first Group 1 win when he landed the Prix Morny at Deauville on Sunday.
The winner, who supplied the second leg of a scintillating transatlantic double for rider William Buick after his victory in Saturday's Arlington Million, was given a quote of 16-1 by Paddy Power for next year's 2,000 Guineas after beating Tin Horse and Pontenuovo.
Sporting the pink and green silks of Khalifa Dasmal, Dream Ahead, who won by nine lengths on his debut, raced up the centre of the track and picked up impressively, as the Richard Hannon-trained favourite Libranno failed to fire under Richard Hughes.
Simcock, whose previous biggest success came courtesy of Bushman's win in the Group 3 Diomed Stakes at Epsom in June, said: "I've always liked him. He's a very mature and scopey horse.
"We'll think about the Middle Park [October 1] and then the Dewhurst [October 16] after that."
Dream Ahead, a son of Diktat, was withdrawn from Tuesday's Sportingbet.com Acomb Stakes on account of the York going and Simcock added: "He'd have been more impressive on softer ground.
"We thought about the Acomb, but thought it would be softer here. It's too far off to think about the Guineas."
Despite Simcock's caution, Ladbrokes and Stan James were busy adjusting their ante-post markets for the opening Classic of next season.
Ladbrokes introduced Dream Ahead as a 16-1 shot for the Guineas, while the firm removed the disappointing Libranno from their betting.
Stan James, meanwhile, went 20-1 (from 33), although the firm's head of PR Charlie McCann said: "Dream Ahead would be shorter but plenty of cut in the ground looks vital given he was re-routed from York earlier in the week on account of the prevailing fast ground."
Libranno, who was as short as 14-1 for the Guineas after Group 2 wins at Newmarket's July festival and at Glorious Goodwood, could not land a blow and finished sixth of the 11 runners.
Hannon said: "He never picked up."
Irish Field, who was saddled by John Hills, but is likely to head for a new career in Hong Kong, ran with credit in fifth, while the Mick Channon-trained Soraaya (eighth) and Godolphin's Al Aasifh (tenth) were further down the field.

Hibs, perhaps you can let me know if I'm barking up the wrong tree here.
How often does Hannon's 2 year olds train on? I mean there are the Paco Boy's ect. but I seem to feel that his horses have brilliant 2 year old careers but more often than not does not feature too highly for the rest of their careers?
Just a question as I'm not too clued up with English racing, but would love to know if you have any opinions.
Cheers

Tommy , Hannon`s top 2yo`s train on fine, the likes of Canford Cliffs,Paco Boy,Dick Turpin were all top class at 2,having said that he has a knack at training 2yo`s and trains them to the minute..
Here is his last 3 years stats:
2008
2YO 94
3YO+ 95
2009
2YO 98
3YO+ 90
2010-
2YO 83

But when you compare him to Scotsman Mark Johnston you may have a point..
2008
2YO 58
3YO+ 106
2009
2YO 68
3YO+ 148
2010-
2YO 6

Middle Park or Dewhurst next for Dream Ahead
Racing Post
DAVID SIMCOCK on Monday started to consider future options for Sunday's impressive Darley Prix Morny winner Dream Ahead, who provided the talented trainer with a first Group 1 victory.
Despite having had just one racecourse outing going into Sunday's race, a nine length victory in a Nottingham maiden, Dream Ahead travelled sweetly for William Buick, before putting the race to bed with the minimum of fuss.
Despite reports that the horse will go for the Shadwell Middle Park Stakes on October 1, followed by the Jumeirah Dewhurst Stakes on October 16, Simcock on Monday confirmed that Khalifa Dasmal's juvenile will head to one or the other of those targets but is unlikely to tackle both races.
"It will be the Middle Park or Dewhurst but I doubt it would be both. I'm looking forward to stepping up to seven furlongs at some stage, I'm sure he will stay," the trainer told At The Races.
Simcock is keen to aim the son of Diktat at the 2,000 Guineas next year, although once again stressed the importance of underfoot conditions. He added: "I genuinely think he could be a Guineas horse. I think he will stay but I will not risk him on fast ground. It had probably dried out to good ground on Sunday and there is more to come with a bit of cut."
The victory is bound to have alerted racing's super powers and, although keen to keep Dream Ahead at his Trillium Place yard, Simcock was philosophical about the threat of a big-money offer being made for the unbeaten colt.
The trainer added: "The owner is very keen to keep him but no horse isn't for sale. Every horse has its price and we will cross that bridge if we come to it."

Just for good measure, Buick has just won the Gr 2 Prix Foy at Longchamp on Duncan, for John Gosden.
