All the best with the awards - I offered to sponsor a prize but was told a 'BOOKMAKER' was not entitled to.

I hope the event is a great success nonetheless from all of us at VCSA.

What a joke,who makes up all these rules?

-DHello JD. I went for champion 3yo c&g this time although I was tempted to sponsor sprinter again.

I have now heard everything.A bookmaker may not sponsor a prize,in respect of an annual award,bearing in mind they would have no influence on who benefits,but it is OK for bookmakers(and/or associates) to sponsor specific jocks &/or stables on a monthly basis.
No wonder the industry is in dire straits!

Kobus thanked us punters on here after he recieved his equus award,when will the authorities realize that gambling is the most important part of horse racing ?

I am sure our racing needs tampax as a sponsor to help them through this difficult period?

Rob- I agree 99% with you, Bookmakers can sponsor trainers, but not jocks, but yes associates can - i understand. While I was at HW, i enquired about this and was told after 3 months of so called debate - NO.

I have contacted Phum about sponsoring either a jockeys or trainers national title - lets see what transpires. I cannot gurantee that I will be able to but Im seriously considering it within budget constraints.

Anyway all the best friends, at least we are all on the same side.
