Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2022/23
2 years 8 months ago4/5 but it’s actually 4/7 next up Everton away then Newcastle, Spurs and Chelsea. At the end of that they could be 18 points at least behind Man City
So, in the first 10-12 matches, they would have played the perennial top 6-7...all plain sailing thereafter but confidence could be shot by then...
There are no easy matches in the PL tnaicker

4th September:
United 3 Arsenal 1.
How long before you get over it, bud?
Arsenal 21 points
Man United 12 points
That’s all what counts

Could this weekend be the weekend when the PL lead changes hands, and remains so for the rest of the season?
Saturday, Man City at home to Southampton, bar the entire City first team falling ill on Friday, can't see Southampton coming away with a result.
Sunday, Arsenal (15/10) at home to Liverpool (16/10). On current form, Arsenal should win, but Liverpool can't be written off.

Still in shock about the woeful Man U performance - especially in the first half, where imo Ten Hage went with the wrong players - no Casemiru - and how many times did Grealish run around Dalot ? And Malacia - the less said the better; surely a re-think on the defense is needed.
After the break, City sort of allowed United to play and they looked better - even won the 2nd half - but of course by then the damage was done.
Congrats to City - they really look a class above all the other teams

In a life time of playing and watching football the league has never been won in October. It’s a marathon not a sprint and with the World Cup breaking up the top European leagues for 6 weeks stand by for some huge shocks in the new year.

United suffered from stage fright yesterday. We did not show any of the fight and desire that was on display during the previous victories. However, I'm confident that we will bounce back against Everton. We are still a work in progress. I think us united fans got a bit carried away by the past performances against weaker
opponents.

Weaker opponents, I will let that slide my bud.
Problem with the manager is that he is trying to install the Ajax way in the PL. It’s impossible to work because unlike the Dutch league the PL play at a much higher and faster tempo and not just technical like the Dutch teams. He has done a dirty on Ronaldo by insisting that he stay. What he meant was stay on the bench.

A good few teams are going to have injury laden squads after the World Cup...so I agree with @cnc that results are going to be difficult to predict...and surprise results are going to be the norm...

Chook, i said they could hit the front, and stay there - never said the PL will be won in October - fully understand it's a marathon.

That is speculation - a few good teams are going to have injury laden squads after the WC.
Not sure whether Chook is hoping that happens because Arsenal may have the least player representation of all the PL sides, at the World Cup.
I am not a Man City fan, just enjoy watching them because of their goal scoring phenomenon Erling Haaland.

I just read that pandemonium at the game yesterday. Marshall's had to call in for re-enforcements, to force the united supporters to stay and watch the match.
