I have Make My Grey running today. Hereunder is the trainer report :
"I am probably going to give him this last run until the spring and then bring him back fresh. If he stays he should have a chance today although I wouldn’t go crazy on him."
To be frank - I have been somewhat surprised by this horse as I thought he was more likely to be a stayer given the influence of Medaaly. So winning over 1200m was hardly what I expected and a welcome bonus! I will be very interested to see how he goes over 1600 metres as this is closer to the type of distance that I thought would suit him. Happy to see that the trainer is planning a break after this run as he looks scopey but immature to me. Nevertheless he does appear to have a lot of 'heart' and puts in his best whenever he runs.
Hope this helps you all........

R1 # 8 Mateus/Penthouse/Nicolas Dream/San Remo
#8 Mateus 1 draw placed both runs with Bl/Du Plooy/1200 combination and should compete again at great place return
R2 # 8 Star Billing / Cut Master
#8 Star Billing BL fitted last run got a SR of 60! Bl fitted again and has done Durbanville for 2 whisker 2nd's as well as better drawn 2 today and wanting the double with Mateus in last, Marshall is the magician with 2yr olds, Main danger #1 Cut Master: Neisius gest the ride so must have a good chance with the good form but has not done the turn and has not done Durbanville so unknown quantity on those 2
R3 # 1 Al Masri
Marshall gets beaten here by Ramsden? Drawn 1 Fortune up coming off 2 feuture runs that was not disgraced must be the right one here, but Marshall should be very close behind with Chrysalis...Snaith could upset the applecart (6 being preferred of the 2 coupled)
R4#1 Sniper: Sniper did not try back from rest wrong distance and should be much better over this 3/3 distance, BUT strong Crawford & Kannemeyer hand here for the winner so Sniper chance so not banker P6, include Crawford and Kannemeyer, consider 3,13,2,4,14
R5#9 Cold Hearted Cat (or stable)
Ennion and Cold Hearted Cat looks to be ready for the up in distance running on all the time and gets Fourie back today that won on 6 March here over 1800 and also gets 5 draw 3rdRR. CRS2-5-10 DC 3-8-19 must be respected, and last14/15 draw running on at 1600 should be ready and HUGE price E/W. #6 Ennion again good backup stable companion Noach gets a chance to get the timing right again after running 3rd FM82 this CD Feb'10 and gets 3rd RR as well as 2 draw to assist. CD2/2 if the J can pull it off then it will be a HUGe payout. Last run was doing best work at the end from 11/12 draw and today draw to assist and 3rd RR decent place chance in open contest
R6 # 4 Blake: Blake does not run a bad race 2-6-10 and well judged both 2000 wins with Neisius onboard should relish the extra Draw13 is a concern but he has won/placed from 13/15/10/14 draw so should be no bother to Blake here.CRS 1-1-2 soft 2-2-4 a BIG runner, but have a feeling he might be beaten, include 10,6,2,11,14
R7 # 6 Danzig's Man (or stable)
Steyn did enter to compete here and in Danzigs Man he has a CD 1/1 and good draw with 2 runs on Schlechter both looking good after 1000, expect him to put in an effort.Stable Companion #9 is good backup here: Coetzee gets the ride for Steyn and is another strong contender for Steyn but has to overcome the 9 draw. RESPECT CD 5/5
R8 # 7 Genius My King/#4 Maliyakhe:
#7Genius my King looks the most likely in an OPEN contest from a 4 draw CD2/2 Rs 4/5 and Byleveld onboard again.Dist 3-16-28 is very consistent and SFT 2-2-6 my weak 1st choice. Last run from 14/14 draw was very wide all around so must be better from the 4 draw today and should give a good showing.
#4 Maliyakhe does not have a good draw 13 today but ever consistent CRS2-1-4 SFT 3-2-5 must be respected to put up a good showing. He has won both runs back from a rest and must be given a decent chance to attempt the hattrick
R9 # 4 Blanic / #1 Blood Diamond:
#4Blanic has won 3/4 this CD and must be in with a winning chance again here. The one he did not win he was continually bulked so might still be ahead of the handicapper and only received a 1 kg penalty for his last win, must be respected again here
#1 Blood Diamond: Blood Diamond comes from a 199 Days rest but has shown very good form prior to that and must be respected here. The Geld could just do the trick and an improvement from Being gelded will put him high up the order here.
PA: 1,2 x 1,11,3 x 9,6,10,11 x 4,10,6 x 6,4,7 x 7,2 x 4,1,2 for R1296,00
P6: 11,13,1,3,2 x 9,14,10,2,3 x 4,10,6,2,11 x 6 (4,10,13,14,5) x 7,2,5,6,10,12,1 x 4,1,2 for R2625,00 (R15750,00)
JP: 9,14,10,2,3 (12,1,5) x 4,10,6,2,11 x 6 (4,10,13,14,5) x 7,2,5 for R75,00 (R720,00)
