I have to agree with banning the Vuvuzela. Whilst I was not against it initially its become incredibly irritating to listen to all the time. There's no point in cheering or singing as everything just gets drowned out by the ridiculous noise.
Lets remember it's not the South Africa Cup, but the World Cup and its to be enjoyed by fans all over the world. The argument that's its an African tradition is the biggest rubbish I've ever heard. Banning them will make viewing the game more enjoyable at the game and on television, I'm sure fans would rather not have to wear ear plugs as well.
I hope Fifa come to its sense for once...

I'm not a fan of them either (wish they didn't exist) but a few things to point out.
Jordaan is NOT seriously considering banning them. He doesn't like them but maintains his original stance that a ban will be considered is there is sufficient cause, like a player being injured by one thrown onto the pitch.
Also, the Frence were originally blaming there accomodation in Knysa as being too 'posh'! They were making excuses for their failed WC before they even started their first game. This is just another excuse/ploy.

Its a bit late now?
We could start a thread 100 things to do with a vuvuzela, or 101 if you blow it?

Call me old-fashioned but for the life of me I cannot figure out where/why this immensely irritating habit of blowing a vuvuzela has now become a 'South African tradition'; luckily I can still watch the games I feel is worth watching with the mute button in operation.
Talking about the games, as a novice I was really impressed with the way the Germans performed last night (I would suggest that this is the way the game should be played) and I think whoever beats them will win the cup.
