Scotia on the Final Countdown
15 years 15 hours ago
Good morning all and its only 2 more sleeps to kick off for the biggest show on earth, so lets get ready to rumble.
I am not sure if you are lucky enough to be at the game or watching with friends in a pub but I am sure we are all praying for a victory from SA against the Mexicans a loss will put a hyped up Nation in mourning.
As you can read from the site more betting opportunities than ever, so it would be pointless me trying to extract the options, have a look and take a bet!
However impressed with the calendar............World Cup Calendar
After the very successful Investec Oaks/Derby meeting its been hard to focus on bread and butter racing but its Ascot from the 15th to the 19th of June and some great racing in store. Goldikova has gone 16/10 for the Queen Anne and you can get 3/1 Paco Boy, and Canford Hills is 16/10 for the St James, as Molly would say "get on"!
I am still trying to asses what Workforce did to the Derby field, is this the new "superstar" or just a freak result.
We will probably have to watch the Arc Workforce 4/1 and Fame and Glory 7/1.
Workforce how good is he?
We have all heard the saying "does size count" we all thought (men that is) that they were talking about us?
I guess we were wrong as "size does count" to a woman, if she is a 10/12/14/16 whatever? she will go from shop to shop until she gets her "size" refusing to move from one size to the next.
Considering this phenomena I was going to buy plenty clothes from Woolies/Trueworths/Edgars etc and change all the labels from 10 to 12, 12 to 14 etc and open a shop called "Feel Good"? sure it would work.
"it looks great love"
This is an early post as expect the weekend to be rather heavy, if you are not playing the soccer many other options
Some really good rugby Internationals this weekend which I am sure will receive priority over the soccer at the local Afrikaans pub, which is sad.
My biggest fear is that someone steals the cup and when Zuma is giving the winning team a gold plated vuvazela until the "perpetrators are brought to book" and the Cup is found "no stone will be left unturned" the only saving grace will be if Nigeria wins as they probably already have it?
Things to try with your vuvazela
Scotia`s Weekend treble where the heart will rule the brain is South Africa to win the soccer and rugby plus Pocket Power to win at Clairwood (check the site for what my brain will be punting!)
Guys and girls have a great weekend and may your God be with you

The Queen Anne will be a cracker!!!
Winkle on course for Queen Anne showdown
ROYAL ASCOT is set to open with the biggest bang in its centuries-old history after Aidan O'Brien announced his star miler Rip Van Winkle is very much on course for a showdown with Goldikova and Paco Boy in the first race of next week's meeting.
Hot on the heels of recent confirmation that dual Breeders' Cup Mile heroine Goldikova and last month's easy Lockinge Stakes winner Paco Boy are being aimed at the Queen Anne Stakes came a similarly positive bulletin from Ballydoyle on Rip Van Winkle, whose Coronation Cup winning stablemate Fame And Glory was on Tuesday ruled out of Ascot.
In what would surely rank as a royal meeting curtain-raiser of unparalleled proportions, the Queen Anne looks likely to be the most eagerly awaited race of the fixture, and one that bookmakers are finding hard to judge.
Rip Van Winkle, marginal outsider of the big three with all firms, has not run sinceflopping in the Breeders' Cup Classic, but prior to his American assignment he had won the Sussex Stakes - in which he conclusively beat Paco Boy - and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot.
Asked about Rip Van Winkle, O'Brien said: "It's a case of so far so good with him and the plan is to start him off in the Queen Anne."

Morning Bob, Workforce for the King George?
Workforce heads strong Stoute King George entry
SIR MICHAEL STOUTE, who saddled the first three home in last season's King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (sponsored by Betfair), has six possible contenders engaged in this year's race.
Investec Derby winner Workforce is Stoute's sole three-year-old among the 40 entries, while Ask, who was third last year, could be joined by fellow older horses Confront, Glass Harmonium, Harbinger and Spanish Moon.
At First Sight, who was a shock second in the Derby, is among the eight three-year-olds Aidan O'Brien has entered.
Rewilding, who finished third behind Workforce and At First Sight at Epsom, could also head for the £1,000,000 contest on July 24. He is one of four from the Classic generation who could run for Godolphin.
