Good morning all and don't we live in exciting times as far as punting opportunities and social experiences are concerned?

Not sure what your plans are over the next few weeks, but with the Rugby, Soccer, Horse Racing etc its time to have a jol and a punt.

Horse Racing:

Val De Ra

Local racing heating up and the meeting at Scottsville on Sat. should be a cracking days racing its been great to get the press releases from Gill at Gold Circle to keep the punters up to date with the latest info from the trainers.
Look forward to having a punt on "Kavanagh" in addition "Val De Ra" vs Gibraltar Blue, the return of J.J. and many more good horses on show.

Overseas we have the Investec sponsored Derby meeting next week.
The Oaks is on Friday the 4th of June where Rumoush 6/1, Aviate 6/1 and Timepiece 7/1 are possible contenders in a very open affair. The Coronation Cup should be a match race between Fame and Glory 16/10 and Sariska 3/1.
The Derby, plenty speculation and its either St Nicholas Abbey 2/1 or the field?

Fame and Gory

Ascot 15th to 19th of June is also a bit early to call, but we can again expect some top class racing.
Queen Anne: Paco Boy 22/10, Goldikova 5/2, Rip Van Winkle 3/1 what a race this should be?
Canford Hills 15/10 for the St James Palace and the money keeps coming for Manifest 3/1 for the Gold Cup.

Paco Boy

The Arc on the 3rd of Oct. it might be as well having an early punt on the "worlds greatest race"? St Nicholas or Fame and Glory at around 8/1.

Rugby where its been great having views from Garrick and even with Scotia's extra few kilos its an all SA final adding to the Soccer build up and great vibe in the country. It should be a bruising final and will have to stick to the Bulls. Garricks latest update

Bull Babes

Touched on the World Cup last week and must say it wont be easy for SA to beat the Mexicans in the opener, but we don't want to break history and fluff our lines.
Plenty betting options, if you fancy leading goal scorer Villa, Messi, Rooney at around 10/1 and if you fancy a team/top scorer might be best to stick to the same team combination e,g Argentina/Messi at 25/1. The England/Rooney 30/1 (but in this case Tony McCoy can forget the sports personality). Don't forget Phil Taylor........Nine dart finishes

Idols Lee has gone 5/10 and Crystal 2/1.

So whatever you are doing or where you are going have a good crack, on the subject of good cracks have you seen Venus Williams at the French Open?

I guess we should have a caption competition

Scotia`s treble to take on Joffer Kavanagh, Val De Ra and the Bulls

Good punting and may your God be with you.

What is it like to live in Pretoria when the Bulls are playing?
The steaks are Blue Bull, the Wors are blue and even the bread rolls are blue, the pubs are full and young girls try to force you to drink shooters! Its the place to be (tu)

St Nicholas Abbey out to 4-1 in Derby market

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY was on Sunday pushed out to a top-priced 4-1 by Ladbrokes for the Investec Derby on Saturday, while the same firm, reckoned by many to have the inside track on Ballydoyle, cut Jan Vermeer to 9-4.

Ladbrokes, who were 3-1 about both the Aidan O'Brien-trained pair on Sunday morning, have established dependable links of communication with Ballydoyle over several decades, but director of public relations Mike Dillon stressed that the adjustment in odds was purely market driven.

That was a result of a busy morning of trading activity, with punters looking to second guess a statement on final running plans expected from O'Brien either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Dillon said: "We've reacted to the support for Jan Vermeer, who punters anticipate with be ridden by Johnny Murtagh. It's inevitable that no-one is going to want to back St Nicholas Abbey until Aidan confirms the colt as a runner or otherwise - so in that respect he's probably a horse without a price at the moment."

Dillon said that the O'Brien-trained Midas Touch, who on Friday worked upsides St Nicholas Abbey in the session at Ballydoyle in which the Racing Post Trophy winner failed to stamp his usual superiority and triggered doubt over his participation at Epsom, was also lacking support in the market and has been eased to 8-1 (from 7) by the firm.

Paddy Power went even further than Ladbrokes in cutting Jan Vermeer to a shortest-priced 2-1, while O'Brien said that he was leaning a bit more towards France than Epsom for Cape Blanco, but stressed that could change.

Trainer Michael Bell said on Sunday that Jamie Spencer will deploy different tactics on Coordinated Cut, a 20-1 shot with most firms and who has ground to make up on both Cape Blanco and Workforce following his four-length defeat when third to the pair in the Totesport Dante Stakes.

Bell said: "We rode him positively at York and with the benefit of hindsight that was a mistake."

Michael Hills said on Sunday he was encouraged by 33-1 shot Ted Spread's workout over seven and a half furlongs on Friday.

"I was surprised how much speed he showed, and the good thing is that he has the stamina to go with it," said Hills.
