Well they do get the live feed from the track, why should we get a second channel?

Watch racing International, put a few quid with an overseas bookie to watch SA racing?

The mind boggles :S

Mr Du Plessis said ''agreement was another step towards establishing South African racing as a major international brand''

Question 1: What were the other step(s)?
Question 2: How big are Bet 365? (Hibs maybe you can answer this question)
Question 3: How much would a second racing channel cost?

I can't answer your questions, greg, but regarding the 2nd channel; I am not sure that it would make business sense at the moment; P would lose out on the okes now being pursuaded to bet on the overseas stuff while they are waiting for a local race? Perhaps the idea is to groom local punters to keep on improving the overseas pools until they are large enough to sustain a 2nd channel by themselves?

am i deducting corretly then that Phum has a vested interest in keeping SAF racing alive - so it can generate some form of income? perhaps they are striving to shift the balance as their majority income is from local SAF punters - approx 60-70%, but cannot foresee growth in this market due to many factors (economy, lack of marketing and market information/education about racing) but can foresee growth or at least penetration in a bigger market - which is the UK?
