Spot on Mr H.Pity that SAFTOTE seem to think an intolerable situation becomes acceptable to customers if they have been given some lame excuse.

ONE MAN ONE TOTE by Lance Benson
Then the tote dividends debacle continues to puzzle and worry punters. Take these two self-explanatory postings from the ABC website(africanbettingclan.com) this weekend:
Jack Dash wrote on 5 April:
The starting prices for Turffontein Race 4 was 15/10 Educat, 5/2 Norma Rae and 6/1 Coloured Gem.
Coloured Gem wins and paid R3.20 (22/10) on the tote as favourite. And R1.00 or (0/1) the place.
A bookie would lay you 7/1, so who would bet on the tote if you can get 300% more? You have to say it's peculiar.
Justanotherpunter followed up:
The tote favourite in the last leg of the Pick 6 on Sunday was Hurricane Force with about 400m to race. The pool was R86000 with Hurricane Force paying R3.30 and Morroccan R3.60. When they passed the post the pool had updated to R91000 and was showing joint favourites @ R3.40 Morroccan was declared the official tote favourite. PGE can preach until they are blue in the face about audits etc, but I can assure you that they have not appeased their customers. There are continuously suspicious looking things going on these days, and racing people are suspicious at the best of times, so they are going to have to do more to assure the customers that nothing out of the ordinary is going on. My tote form has been diabolical so I have cut my spend anyway, but there is no ways that I am going back to spending the sums that I was previously until I feel assured that nothing untoward is on the go.
The tote dividend saga was initially addressed by Saftote, but things have hardly improved and customer confidence continues to wane. I happen to know Justanotherpunter as a successful businessman who has invested a lifetime of passion into the game, besides a considerable spend on racehorse ownership and on his betting activities. The authorities are dangerously ignoring guys just like him.

What an ex-wife, Bank manager, Gamblers Anon, countless girlfriends etc could not achieve with me Comingling has done - have not put money in telebet for ages - well done Phumelela keep up the good work you may just get the Nobel Prize for Medicine for finding a cure for horse racing addiction:) My vote goes to you and guess what I'm even losing interest in racing as a "SPORT" thanks to the bad policy and poor service(
Any chance of Phumelela buying out all the major cigarette companies in South Africa? Another vice I'd like to divorce!!

Hardly drink anymore Zoro, more to do with the Metro Cops on the East Rand than Phumelela so now only good habits left in my personal "SIN BIN" - Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n Roll is all I've got to occupy me I'm afraid!!
