De Kock must be livid

Both Raihana and Muisir are off to David Payne. I think Sheikh Mo had lost his marbles. De Kock has publicly giving his blessing but deep down this must be one of the saddest moments of his career. I feel for him. He has trained both with the utmost patience and has achieved so much.

I remember reading somewhere that this had been the plan all along. MDK is a professional and even though it must have been tough, he knows on which side his bread is buttered......The Sheik is a huge part of his yard and with Sheik Rashid getting involved in his yard as well it can onlly be good for MDK, SA and world racing......remember Sheik Rashid (blue and white silks) mainly runs his horses at 2/3 and perhaps 4 before they get shipped off for breeding or sold on.........
I'm sure he is sad, but this is such an exciting time for him. He is now truly in the driving seat as far as his career is concerned!
Good luck to him and once again WELL DONE!!!!

More disappointing were the english horsies that came to MDK. No Eagle Mountains so far.

They come and go. After all, a huge part of his string is made up of horses that came from other yards and it makes sense to return those Aussie breds to the southern hemisphere.

I agree Ruby,
With the proximity of Gio Ponti to the winner and the ease with which Zenyatta beat Gio Ponti, I have no doubt that she could have beaten them.....
It was a real pity the owners did not decide to give it a go, especially since there is no more Rachel Alexandra in her forseeable future. They are all running scared

Mike is not "livid" at all - he and Jehan Malherbe are part of Sheik M bin K's advisory team and decisions are taken after hours of consultation.
Musir and Raihana's careers have been mapped out and as it happens there are races in Australia that fit in with their immediate plans.
The move is temporary, just like Asiatic Boy's temporary move to the US a few seasons ago.
