I have a quary. If a trainer has a horse with colic and phones a vet to come out and the vet is out of town and no other vet is available what must the trainer do?Why dont they allow a trainer to have a emergency package of medicine given by a vet and checked by the NHA every month for emergencies?I feel if a trainer gets to the stable and sees that a horse has colic and phones the vet.Under what pain is that horse and will the horse still be alive when the vet finally arrives?Dont you think that the emergency medi pack given to a trainer could have saved the horse.

I take it that you have not been in racing to long. Firstly all the racing centres have tons of vets and needles in certain trainers not a good idea.
