JACK MILNER - Trainer Charles Laird can get Pick 6 punters at Greyville today off to a flying start. He sends out talented Australian-bred filly Flying Princess in Race 4, a Graduation Plate for fillies and mares over 1100m, and she looks head-and-shoulders better than her opposition.

The daughter of Flying Spur has raced just four times for two wins and it is the calibre of the runners she beat that makes her a standout bet in this field.

In her debut she stumbled at the start and trailed in 8.40 lengths behind Sean Tarry’s highly rated Mana Mou. It didn’t take long for Flying Princess to spread her wings and over 1000m at Scottsville in her second start she trounced Gluwein by 3.50 lengths.

Laird then brought her to Gauteng and once again she showed her class with facile one-length victory over Mary Lou in a 1200m sprint on the Turffontein inside track.

Gluwein has since won the Grade 1 Majorca Stakes while Mary Lou was a 5.50-length winner of the Listed Swallow Stakes.

When tried over 1400m in the Listed Starling Stakes, Flying Princess never got into the hunt and finished 16 lengths behind Sidera. However, back to a sprint and with Anton Marcus in the saddle, she will be hard to stop, even taking a 130-day rest into account.

Herman Brown and jockey Raymond Danielson join forces to give punters a second Pick 6 banker in Race 9 over 1300m. Young Caesour was desperately unlucky not to win her last start but was badly drawn, started slowly and raced greenly.

Overall it was a superb effort by the favourite to finish a 1.90-length fourth behind her stablemate Norbury. She completed the 400m-to-finish in a remarkable 21.9 sec and should recoup losses.
