i dont know if its luck or patience but peter millers horses have an amazing knack of cracking good draws over the kimberly 1200 to 16oom races..you just have to lookback in time to verify this and 80 percent of the time his runners will be drawn in the first 6....in the 4th race his runners drawn 2 3 and 7 out of 10,in the 5th 4 and 6th out of 14 ,in race 6 THEY DRAWN 1 2 AND 3 OUT OF 14,race 7 drawn 1 4 and 5 out of 11,in race 8 drawn 3 and 4 out of 14...maybe he only runs them when they crack decnt draws

JACK MILNER - IT took a few runs for trainer Peter Miller to work him out but finally High Speed Rush looks ready to win his first race since moving to the yard in September last year.

The five-year-old Danehill Dancer gelding ran a couple of shockers before finding his feet but in his last two starts he has just gone down a neck to San Sebastian Bay and Ireland respectively.

In all likelihood the improvement in High Speed Rush has probably been due more to the work of the handicapper than Miller. When he arrived in Kimberley the Australian-bred gelding was rated at 83 but he has been dropped 12 points and is currently racing off a 71. However, Miller has contributed as the improvement also came when the trainer opted to race him without blinkers.

On Monday he races in a MR 78 Handicap over 1400m and from a No 4 draw with Gunter Wrogemann in the irons, should score his first victory for his new yard.

He also looks a useful Pick 6 and Jackpot banker as he is coupled with Golden View and Corporate Choice, both of whom have winning chances. Golden View has failed in both his starts over 1600m but over 200m shorter and with an in-form apprentice claiming a 2.5kg allowance the Goldkeeper gelding looks most competitive. He may be up in class but has just 51kg to shoulder.

Corporate Choice did not have the best of luck when finishing 0.75 lengths behind High Speed Rush in the race won by Ireland but without an apprentice allowance this time he is 2.5kg worse off.

Nonetheless Gerrit Schlechter is in the irons and that could well compensate for the weight difference.
