I fancy the following ATC:

Flaming Al
La Pucelle
Charles Greig

Also Equipirada should also win the last.

Happy punting!!!

Gents
Magic's favourite course will remain "Spatsville". We have had light soaking rain for the better part of last night and is still drizzling.
I am disappointed since our filly La Pucelle would have taken some beating today but for the going.
I took a treble on Monday Flaming Al/ La Pucelle/ Equiparada

I hope the course is not too wet.

JACK MILNER - Mike de Kock won three of the four graded races at Turffontein on Sunday and can add another trio to his record at Scottsville on Wednesday afternoon.

The jet-setting trainer, who flew into Johannesburg for Guineas Day and returned to Dubai on Sunday night, has two runners in each of Races 3, 5 and 9 and one in Race 7, and all have chances.

His best runner looks to be in the final event where he runs Equiparada over 1600m. The Argentine-bred filly made her debut in a work-riders’ race last month over 1200m at this track and has beaten just a head into second. She was slowly out of the pens and received a bump during the race so that run was commendable.

Anthony Delpech rides her this time and the extra 400m should suit her. She is ideally drawn at No 3 and looks the best bet on the card.

Pennrock, by Western Winter out of Gold Cup winner Bella Bianca, has her first outing in the same race but the mare has yet to produce a winner. In fact only two of her five progeny have actually seen the track, so not too much should be expected.

Imperial Palace made a fair debut at Greyville last month over 1200m and he, too, can improve over the same distance in Race 3. Also in the race is Mesquite, a son of Fort Wood who cost R2.6-million. He may need further and the betting should be the best guide.

Sweetie Pie won by 13 lengths in her first start after a rest and she can follow up in Race 5, where she tries 1600m for the first time. She should have most to fear from in-form Villayet.

Just a note i think Jack got the draw and the winning distance mixed up,Sweet pie won by 3 L last time out..

Sweetie Pie won by more than 3 lengths but less than 13. What happened is that the runner-up was disqualified when Muzi Yeni weighed in short, but the official results give the winning margin as the margin between Sweetie Pie and the original third finisher, who was promoted to second. I think the margin was somewhere around seven lengths. As usual, nobody knows or cares about the accuracy of the information on which large sums of money are wagered, but if Jack didn't watch the race he would have no way of knowing that the 13 length margin is hogwash.:(

Please help with Sweetie Pie formline - article says 13 lengths - Formgrids has it as 3 lengths and Sporting Post has it as 7.5 lengths - which is it?

Just out of interest, I spoke to Nathan Kotzen on Monday and he is extremely unhappy about the merit rating applied to Sweetie Pie after her win beating a weak field he referred to as 'the blind school'.

Sweetie Pie is a 3yr old one time winner carrying 60.5kgs, meeting the 4yr old Vilayet, a 3 time winner coming into this race having won her last two against far stronger than this lot. Vilayet carries 59.5kgs receiving 2kgs from Sweetie Pie. Can anyone work that out?

I get the impression that the handicapper saw the 13length victory on paper and penalised her accordingly.

Also worth noting is that the going was heavy that day and both the race time (3 1/2 seconds off average maiden time 1200m Scottsville) and 400m to finish time (26.6secs hopeless!) was way off the norm.

Not that this is in any way out of the ordinary; handicapping in KZN (in polite terms) leaves much to be desired. One has to wonder if the talking heads in JHB that apply the ratings even bother watching replays, and do they factor in important issues such as track conditions etc.

According to the rocket scientists on the TABGold website the pen reading is 29 but the going is good, there has been 1 mil of rain in the last seven days but 10 mils in the last 24 hours. Oh brother! If they told me it snowed in Canada in winter I wouldn't believe them. As pirates likes to say (correctly), the mediocrity continues.8-)

I guess the going is pretty soft, but at least it seems as if racing goes ahead.
