NOW CUBA IS IN LANSERIA!

Forget Africa being a continent, Cuba is now right on the doorstep of Lanseria (reminds one of Gitmo!)

Just alongside the road works on the way to Lanseria is this squatter camp, blocked from view by a high concrete wall (Egypt on Gaza?).

One cannot enter the squatter camp as there's a notice 'Private property,....!'

However, I recall someone making a comment about '3 minute showers in Cuba'.

Well, were they referring to this signage which is at the entrance inside the squatter camp? Have the Cubans (Communists) arrived?

BTW, the camp (with 1.5m sq. metal corrugated sheet 'cabins' cramped alongside one another) with over 500 residents belongs to the construction company that is building / upgrading the roads!

Also, there is an island (with no water) between an intersection of roads, wherein there are about 6 shacks with people living in there; a 'high' life on the highway? Apparently, 3 families have been re-located!(I have attached the doc with piks by courtesy of Dr AK Tshabalala, who is in charge of the clinic at Lanseria Airport)

The new South Africa is now even more shocking!

What a sight for all our 2010 visitors! Poverty isolated & encamped within wealth!
