PHUMELELA MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: First full night race meeting at Turffontein
DATE: Thursday 7 January
RELEASED BY: Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited

The 2010 Piggs Peak Night Racing Season got under way at Greyville on 2 January and continues on Tuesday next week, when the first proper night race meeting at Turffontein, Phumelela’s flagship racing venue, will be held.
The new lights at Turffontein were, of course, used for the first time at the day-night Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile race meeting last November and again later that month at the Sansui Summer Cup, which was also a day-night fixture.
Those meetings gave horseracing fans a taste of racing under lights at Turffontein and the response was overwhelmingly positive with many fans commenting that the venue was particularly suited to night racing.
The meeting at Turffontein this Tuesday 12 January will be the first proper night fixture at the track and many horseracing fans are looking forward to the occasion. Eight races are carded with the Listed Swallow Stakes over 1200m heading the programme. Race 1 goes off at 5pm with the last at 9.05pm

Interesting comment 'many fans commenting that the venue was particularly suited to night racing' - did any of the 'many fans' state why it is 'particularly suited to night racing'?

Not to put the mockers on (anything I tip these days seems to run down the drain), I think that Polar Moon should take some beating in that field
