Eight Street

I am the breeder of Eight Street and have been thrilled by his recent runs, however, as many articles as there have been about his win in the victory Moon, I have been unable to obtain a decent photo of the win. Have any of the members seen a side-on shot of the finish?

Yes Magic, still have the mare. We sold the colt, as he then was, for $A40k, but it's so difficult for a buyer from Sth Africa to recoup the purchase price, even at that level. Currently the exchange rate is just below 7 Rand to 1 $A, so the horse would only be just even if you include training fees. I can't believe Charles Laird and others can get their money back when they pay, say, $NZ400k for Oracy. That's a lot of prizemoney he has to win.

They also bought Australia's highest priced yearling ever, at least at the time. Won exactly one race. Tough old game, this.
