The Stipendiary Stewards Reported (DA): TEA BREAK (B Lerena) : The winner. Selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (SA).
CALLING TO DANCE (R Danielson) : Tended to over race in the early and middle stages, raced to the front and thereafter compounded in the final straight. In view of this the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
RUSSIAN THUNDER (*J Greyling) : Was carried outwards for a number of strides by CALLING TO DANCE (R Danielson) at approximately the 1300 metre mark.
TWEENIE (D Daniels) : Steadied off the heels of MAGIC FALCON (AUS) (S Randolph) at approximately the 800 metre mark.

RUSSIAN THUNDER (*J Greyling) : Hanging out in the latter stages.
In view of the Veterinary Surgeon’s report concerning TWEENIE (Trainer D Egdes) and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended from racing for a period of three months.

The Stipendiary Board will hold an investigation into the circumstances relating to the loading of this field and with regard to the loading procedure adopted for the start of this race.
