Turffontein betting - Saturday race 9

I happen to scroll through the betting for Saturday this morning on Hollywoodbets.net

I happen to come across the 9th race where Exhilleration, Bulsara and Massimiliano run against one another.....

They were betting as follows:

Across the ice 7/2
Bulsara 5/1
Exhileration 20/1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Massimiliano 50/1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this had to be a mistake so I thought I would test the waters. I put R10 to win on Exhileration at 20/1 and the bet went through!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stupid me, I should have put R1000 on as there is NO WAY Exhileration can be 20/1 for that race.....

Anybody else notice this crazy betting?

Weight is a great leveller,will find it very hard to give Bulsara 6.5 kgs on their last run?

Be aware if they lay the wrong price they will make the bet null and void..it has recently happened.

Tommy can only guess they loaded the wrong field against the race and you were backing Buy and Sell at 20/1?

I have the email and stub that says I backed Exhileration in Race 9 saturday at 20/1........The only reason I placed the bet was to se if I was dreaming or if they were actually laying these prices....Hence my R10 bet only.

I feel that the mistake was certainly not mine. If they want to nullify my bet for R200 then go ahead...I believe my bet alerted them to their own mistakes.

That will then be the last time I do anybody a favour!! LOL

Tommy I have no doubt in my mind that you are a gent and can assure you that the guys at Hollywood are a superb group of gents.
So I am sure eveything will work out well

I agree Hibs but then it should also be agreed that the horse is NEVER a 20/1 shot, so therefore even if I fancy something else in the race stronger, I certainly would NEVER again get that kind of a price.

I read your post as well as the post of Model Man fan on the other site and I was thinking of you guys when I saw the price!!! I was actually hoping you guys saw it too and had a tickle...No doubt a price for the ages, even though it was a mistake....It still was not our mistake, but rather theirs!!

Just bring home the Slumdog on Saturday...That will make me happy!!!!
