JJ BEING WASTED
15 years 8 months ago
In my opinion, JJ the Jetplane is being wasted abroad...he is clearly not enjoying his racing and should be returned to South Africa, given a decent break and then be allowed to blossom under the right sort of conditions.
If we did n't know of his ability we could have been forgiven if thought this is just a hack with nothing to offer.
Come on, get him on the 1st plane back to South African shores.....

For me the mind boggles at how a horse that won a sprint on a flat and slightly down hill course in Dubai beating one or 2 decent sprinters is NOW forced to run every week on courses that dont suit his run style (hannon) and on courses and distances that dont suit his run style (de kock).
I thought the objective with JJ was ultimately the prx abbaye but now i doubt he will even get a run there, and he is so sour to racing (i went yesterday ) that i would not like to see him run in france.
The way jj is going he will soon be a handicapper that springs up a win once a year and runs kak the rest of the time.
Although in principle i agree to take him home , i still think he can win races abroad. He just needs the orrect conditions.
Maybe the sprint course at Santa Anita?

Easy...yeah possibly Santa Anita...but he certainly is sour to racing at the moment...when challenged he simply throws in the towel.
He could have 10 more runs in the next few weeks and there's just no ways he'd be competitive.
He was the absolute star with Lucky...treated almost like royalty
...therefore my thinking is that he should get a decent break and then be brought back slowly until he regains his zest...he still has a lot to come...I'd rather have a happy horse earning local currency than shooting for dollars and pounds and ending up with a proud champion being turned into a pitiful hack.

Was that the first time J J had worn Blinkers? Looked far to free in the early stages.

For me it smacked of desperation to be honest. I'm not sure who would be the desperate party. Maybe the owners to see what they can get out of it stakes wise, maybe the trainer who wants to see if he should aim JJ at bigger prizes like the Hong Kong sprint?
I hope they now have their answers and they stop putting a great horse through all this.............
Bring JJ home!!!!!!!!!!!

If the owners were that greedy, surely they would have just stayed in SA and scooped up all 600k`s that have been on offer the last 2 years?

Thanks Hib...It was great to see JJ come home like he did.
From the owners' point of view it was a fair call to test the horses' ability abroad and if there is any criticism then it was as I said that the horse was not enjoying racing and needed to come back home and to be fair to the owners, that's exactly what they did and now we can look forward to seeing the champion sprinter doing what he does best!
Go Jet Plane!!!
Oh and of course well done to Lucky and his team in getting the champ back to his best.
