A Day At The Races For Charity
15 years 9 months agoThe Horizon Farm Trust is a Non Profit and Public Benefit Organization that provides accommodation and meaningful occupation to mentally handicapped adults, therapeutic activities and respite care facilities for children with disabilities and outdoor programmes for at-risk youth.
The Horizon Farm’s therapeutic horse-back riding programme, which is offered free, benefits some 40 children with disabilities and has significantly grown over the past few years.
Children who benefit from riding at Horizon Farm range in age from 20 months to 18 years, with disabilities including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism, visual impairment, and down syndrome.
Imagine the joy of a child who is in a wheelchair everyday being able to look down from a horse rather than up at people all the time!
Race Day
The Horizon Farm Trust is holding a Fundraiser Raceday on Sunday, 20 September 2009, at Greyville Racecourse from 11am to 5pm to raise much needed funds for their invaluable Horse Care Therapy Unit which exceeds R100 000 per annum to run.
How can you help?
It’s very simple …join us for lunch on the day! Tickets are only R250.00 per person which includes a full buffet lunch including starters, mains, desserts and a cheese board, as well as an open bar until 5pm (excluding imported spirits).
