Scotia on "Ouch " weekend

Good morning/evening all and hope you are keeping better than I am this weekend.

I have been in and out of hospital the last few days having various tests and getting poked in various body parts "ouch"!

I did at one stage say to the surgeon "should I not be seeing an optician" he said "why"? "because every time you push one of these strange objects inside me, my eyes start to water".
I am in again early Friday morning and not allowed to take the laptop or a bottle of JWB.

I used my new Interbet phone yesterday and the chap in the next bed passed away, its apparently when you push the "take a bet" function being on the same frequency as the electronic equipment in the ICU?
Not sure of the technical details, but his family are not punters so should be no comebacks?

However all going well should be meeting the mates at normal time Friday night for a few shots and steak, but these doctors can be a funny bunch as far as rules.

High Standing still tops the boards for the Haydock Spring Cup on Sat, but the site remains a big fan of JJ, I am aware its been slightly disappointed in its last few runs, but feel that its at the right price for an ew punt at around 16/1 and all the best to the connections who are arranging another flying visit. Well done to Great Odds for pricing up early on this race last week.

J J the Jet Plane e/w value

Other races of note, however the uncertainty of runners make it difficult.

Arc on the 4th Oct.has Fame and Glory at 4/1, Stacelita 5/1 and Sea The Stars 11/2

It would appear Sea the Stars will not run in Ireland on Sat, so Fame and Glory should have little problem winning the Champion Stakes and the English race is on the 17th Oct, where Sea the Stars will top the boards with a run?

Kite Wood still 3/1 fav for the St Leger on the 12th Sept.

Kauto Star is evens for the King George on Boxing Day at Kempton and would scotia love to be there again? you bet.

Kauto Star 1/1 money for the King George

Breeders Cup Classic maybe Sea the Stars vs Zenyatta or is the match race on with Rachel.

I see the Boks are 1/20 if you have a few spare bob.

A couple of early surprises in the English soccer and Chelsea are now firm favs at 13/10 and would never thought that Newcastle would be in the betting for anything again, but glad to see they are as short as 4/1 for the Championship.

Great to see the pictures of the local winners from our top man Hibernia.

Looking forward to the Achievers Day at the big T next weekend and ABC has arranged a bus for the students, which should be a fun trip from Pretoria, could be a dummy run for night racing?
I would add that a major concern on the post re: "Eliminations" before we get new owners suggest we look after the current ones, would appreciate some feedback on the correct parties to contact?

Good punting and may your God be with you

scotia

Rooting for JJ. Funny how 4th and 3rd in successive Gr1's in the UK can be disappointing. Safe to ignore that last run.

Even ignoring what the most optimistic of us might think he's capable of, 16/1 is surely a good price.

I suppose much depends on how he takes to the new yard.

Hope all goes well with the tests tomorrow - perhaps you can sneak in the JWB in an OMO box or something?

Cheers guys and Sabre, with you and maybe used the wrong words, but trust me the horse was highly rated and maybe expectations were a bit unrealistic, lets see what happens Sat.

Frodo "OMO BOX" might have been the wrong choice of words, just dont know how they manage?

lol

Scotia, was not a dig at you at all. I too was 'disappointed' when JJ ran 4th in the first Gr1. I'm just a layman with no knowledge of the inside workings of training a horse etc. but my personal opinion is that JJ is as good as we all thought he was. His runs in England (barring the last one) were top class and, like you I expect, I'm hopeful that he will be able to prove that with a big win.

Only 5 horses in the world are rated higher than JJ in the sprint category up to 6 furlongs: Scenic Blast, Sacred Kingdom, Fleeting Spirit, Kingsgate Native, and Main Aim. He's already beaten Scenic Blast, Sacred Kingdom, Kingsgate Native and Main Aim, and was 2 lengths off Fleeting Spirit while giving her weight. Not too shabby.

Good news Scotia. The condition is treatable with medication. The generic I believe goes by the name Mycoxaflopin.

Best wishes and hope you pass the tests with distinction.
