Phumelela/Gold circle focus on 2010...

Phumelela/Gold circle,
It would make more sense to do a joint venture with SAB and roll out TAB MACHINES in every SHEBEEN/RESTAURANT that have an account with SAB...
Those that have accounts with SAB, have been around for a while..
organic growth.
can change the IT systems to work on a PAY-AS-U-GO concept..
display available credit to operator at machine in shebeen..
Shebeen owner deposits money into tab account via eft ...
TAB MACHINE GETS CUT when money is up..
SHEBEEN OWNER CAN DO EFT to TAB account to keep Machines online...
Next Joint Venture...
Wimpy...
SPUR....
Steers..
House of coffee's
etc...

They would not know a good idea if it hit them in the ass. They dont even know 2010 is coming.
They planning a Bingo Tournament for the Rosettenville Old age home next year.
Plan to bring people to the track. With a bit of luck they dont leave.

just before 2000...
I helped my younger brother...
one of prominent companies in horse racing bought 40% in his company...
he and his staff had written a package that was selling to the JSE listed blue chip companies...used at CEO level....
I was consulting at most of them > 72 with my suit and bow tie...well groomed..weighed about 95kg..
saw 3 CEO's every working day for about 6 months..
selling the package to them..not that selling was required..they needed the package and competition was null...
lost for words...
found 2 CEO's in 6 month's that I would employ as CEO..
the rest..strange...would not know what a good idea is..
needless to say...all the companies ended up running the package..
not because I was so good...not because the CEO...but they suddenly needed the product...
in my 28 years in corporate business..24 years as hourly paid consultant..
I came to the following conclusion...
the clever guys are the workers..the rest are promoted...
on this basis...my opinion...guess who sits on top...

Andrewest:
Did you consider the implications of the Telkom obligation to provide bandwith, etc to other new entrants in the market? Telecoms is not the sole monopoly of Telkom.
What about horseracing betting?
A player comes on the scene (with your idea), can confidently apply for a gambling licence and have Phumelela/Gold Circle make facilities available to run!
Get my angle? Scary or plausible?

Umlilo..
1980's ...
filling stations...selling petrol...
green grocer...next to the cafe...
corner cafe..selling bread milk...
the 3 entities could not survive as businesses by themselves..
today...
filling station...
sells petrol/diesel
cafe that sells
groceries
takeaways
bakery
etc..
reality...the cafe makes more money that the filling stations..
if the 3 entities did not combine..the filling station would have folded..
not the cafe..most cafe's upgraded to 7/11..spar..pick'n pay franchise etc..
most shebeen owners dont make R80,000 profit per month..they have turnover..
most shebeen owners are not aware that they will get 4% R80k pm on R2m turnover from tote..
sa soccer says 450,000 tourists..2010...ALL IN 1 MONTH ONLY...
$100 (R800) each on gambling..
sums 450,000 x R800 = R360,000,000.00
4% = R14,400,000.00.....back to shebeens..
SAB...wants cash before every order is delivered..
SAB...joint venture with TOTE...install pay-as-you-go tab machines in shebeen
SHEBEEN owner now has more cash to pay SAB....
shebeen owner opens INTERBET ACCOUNT...
deposits cash...
takes bets..
prints bet tickets from INTERBET..
law states : bets are deemded to be struck where the server is resident..
Interbet kickbacks.....?????.....1%...2%...3%....4%....betfair will...
