Yes those IFA games were great. Our neighbour was a useless centre forward for Greece(Fotis Domouzis). But i supported Scotland of course.
Greece v Portugal was always a big one though.

Also a big Hellenic fan in the 70's

Arcadia Shepards.

Wheres the lads now? Roy Mathews(he used to come racing every week) not seen him for ages.
Kai passed away, Alec Morrison last time I seen him was bowling at the Quins.
Vincent Julius used to work for me?
In more recent times Gary Dodd, see him every week, Sammy Trouten had a drink with him about a year ago.

sorry guys but the racing is poor.

we should have a soccer reunion, from the good old days.

I was in the Navy and believe it or not was based in the HQ in Pretoria for 6 months and in that time I went to a few games at the Calidonian Stadium. Arcs were a good side.

Arcadia were a top side - had Roy Wegerle's 2 older brothers playing
Steve and Jeff i think?

It was great when those 5 Germans banned for bribes played for Hellenic
Especially the brilliant winger Arno Steffenhagen, who was different class

A friend and I wandered down to an Hellenci training session one afternoon when Budgie Byrne was the manager and all these German were there along with Wilf De Bruin and others. We were just watching them train and Budgie called over to us and invited us to train with them. It was a great experiance for the pair of us but I still continued to support City. Jurgen Webber was another fantastic player. A lot of Scots and Englishmen played for City at that time.

Yes Weber was the other really good one - midfielder with a thunderous shot.
The goalie Volkmar Gross was good too.
The other 2 were a bit over the hill, or simply not motivated
