A P.E horse trained by Stanley Greef for Mr Scribante ran 2nd to M Anthony that year, I think his name was Western Wind.

Yardmaster was my favourite Queens Plate winner. I was at Keniklworth that day and I could not move it was so busy.

I presume you mean Yard-Arm.
And if Kenilworth was busy it must have been the Met and not the Queens Plate

No. Yardmaster won the Queens Plate. Owned by the Makins, trained by Tobie Spies, ridden by Piere Strydom. Somewhere in the late 80s, perhaps.

Back in the 80s Milnerton and Kenilworth were always busy on Saturdays great racing those days with supurb facilities and plenty of bookies.

When the south easter blew at Milnerton the only direction you could move was north west. Walking into that wind was like climbing Everest! But yes, those were good times.
