Dettori top jockeys' table with four festival winners
FRANKIE DETTORI moved to the head of affairs in the Racing Post-sponsored top jockey contest at Glorious Goodwood on Friday.
The Godolphin rider's fourth win of the meeting came courtesy of Black Snowflake in the RSA Nursery Stakes.
Ryan Moore and Jimmy Fortune are next in the table with three wins each, with Richard Hughes and Neil Callan on two winners apiece.
Stan James make Dettori the 8-11 favourite to take the top jockey honours, with Ryan Moore next best at 11-10, while Jimmy Fortune is a 12-1 shot.
Fortune secured his third win of the competition with victory on Laa Rayb in the feature race, the Totesport Mile.
Jim Crowley had earlier denied Moore the opportunity to regain the lead when notching his first winner of the meeting in the opener on Illustrious Blue.
Crowley was then denied a quickfire double in the second race on the card when Tony Hamilton got Johannes home in front of Northern Dare to get his first winner on the board.
Richard Mullen also entered proceedings with his first winner when scoring on Summer Fete in the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes, while Graham Gibbons got on the scoreboard courtesy of Noble Storm in the day-four finale.
