Instructions for Kevin Shea....lol

I would have made a great jockey but unfortunately i grew to 6`7" and 18 stone so i took up Rugby instead.

Anyway this is how "I" would ride J J the Jet Plane in the JULY CUP on friday!!

Ok there is only 13 runners but the draw has been playing a part this week and hold up horses in my opinion are not making up ground at Newmarket this week.

J J has been drawn 5 out 13 and ive got a plan!! The formerly Spanish trained Equiano is a speedball from the gates and if all goes to plan should make the pace.
Equiano is drawn alongside J J in gate 6 and will make the ideal Hare to course. The Jockey Michael hills is not the Bravest jockey in the world so im jumping on terms with Eqiuano and forcing Hills to move more towards the middle(nothing ilegal just a little persuasion).
Eqiuano`s early toe should take him to the front enabling J J to take a toe for the first 600m,Newmarket is downhill for 900m then climbs for the final 300m,but some jocks are caught out up the hill when their mounts don`t pick up in the dip.so with 500m to go im still on the bridle and pull to the right of Eqiuano and strike for the line early gradually drifting to the standside or right of centre(have i mentioned that all the fancied horses are drawn low and are badly drawn?)200m to go and im a length infront with Scenic blast coming on the farside with Art Connoisseur and Paco boy under pressure to make up ground after they have been paying to much attention to each other on the wrong side of the track.

Scenic Blast`s 1000m speed draws him alongside with 150 to go and J J grabs the hill and really stays on towards the line,Scenic blast moves slightly infront but jockey Steven Arnold is desperate for the line,J J really digs in and is fighting back, hes coming back one final tap from Shea and hes back in front winning cleverly at the line!!(Kevin Shea by this time you must be up against the standside rail)

All jockeys do is ride and the horse does all the work....

That hill finds a lot of good horses out. JJ has raced over 1400 before and in sand and that early training to find an extra breath may take hime over the line in first place.

all the best MDK, Kevin Shea, Grecko and connections.

I think that if Scenic Blast does not turn up then his fellow Aussie Takeover Target could have a big say. Main Aim prefers the soft and may not take to the firm conditions which are expected. The horse that can get a lead with 2 furlongs to go will win. Takeover Target to win from Scenic Blast Kings Apostle and JJ the Jetplane

Hibby your 100% right JJ has to be close up - at ascot it was a modest pace and when the pack came 500m meters out they 'blew' by JJ - didn't even get into him until 300m!

What I've seen of JJ he needs a cpl of digs before he even reacts to the whip!

So a a shake up 600m out and a slap or 2 and then the office at 300m could well do it!

I personally don't think any will be staying stronger - still believe 1400m is his 'optimum' trip!

Jim.
