TV PICTURE FROM EPSOM

During the course of the Oaks meeting from Epsom I became aware that the meeting was also being broadcast on Channel 207 as well as Tellytrack.

I found the difference in quality astonishing - and I'm referring ONLY to the picture and not the overall broadcast. When I switched between Tellytrack and 207 it became apparent that they were broadcasting the same picture.

My question, therefore, is this ; Why does the Tellytrack picture remain as poor as it clearly is? Comparatively it lacks sharpness and definition ( rather like watching football on ESPN ) and also seems noteably further away from the action.

Given that I was not viewing on HD ( as I don't subscribe to HD ) it makes me wonder if Tellytrack are simply foisting ancient technology down our throats. Surely the overall picture quality should have been modernised before investing in the trackside camera?

If they broadcast the Derby on 207 this afternoon compare it for yourself. It makes an enormous difference to your viewing pleasure - not least because the picture is also uncluttered with data during the running of the races.

Thanks Garrick, but I will find it very difficult to touch the hand control and switch from 207 to 232, I cant wait to see the coverage, thought I had died and gone to heaven.

As I must say again..Mick Kinane is the legend of all legends!

As for Tellytrack Phum excecutives should watch 207 go to work on Monday and feel ashamed of themselves for dishing up what they do on Tellytrack..in all facets.

Mike De Kock tipped this to win when Clyde interviewed him.
