After yesterdays results we need to get some revenge over the bookies.

I will be hoping that Rainbow View can give us a bit relief?
Rainbow View to face 14 in 1,000 Guineas
RAINBOW VIEW will face 14 fillies in Sunday's Stanjames.com 1,000 Guineas in which champion jockey Ryan Moore will partner the Irish Group 1 winning filly Again.
There were five defections from Monday's acceptors with Jim Bolger, who saddles Cuis Ghaire, not declaring Maoineach or Oh Goodness Me, while Clive Brittain left out Wadaat to leave Nashmiah to carry his hopes.
Bolger said: "We'll run Cuis Ghaire on Sunday and I would be hoping it wouldn't get too fast as it's early in the year and they have to last the whole year. We're hoping she could be there or thereabouts."
The other withdrawals were Damaniyat Girl and Beat Seven, who having scoped poorly, will now be prepared for the Prix de Diane by trainer Gay Kelleway.
Again, the winner of the Moyglare Stud Stakes last year before losing her unbeaten record in the Prix Marcel Boussac, will be one of five runners from Ireland.
Trainer David Wachman also saddles Pursuit Of Glory (Wayne Lordan) while Heart Shaped will be the only Aidan O'Brien-trained runner in the race. The Kevin Prendergast-trained Shimah completes quintet.
Godolphin inmate Devotee is having her first start on the turf but trainer Saeed Bin Suroor reports the recent Dubai winner to be in fine form.
"Devotee won the UAE Oaks and she is a very strongfilly. This is the first time for her on the grass but she is working well so we are hoping for a good result from her," he said.
Ante-post favourite Rainbow View drew stall six for the race while market rival Serious Attitude will start from stall 12.

I don't suppose anybody is driving 1700 miles with a big outsider that will win by half the racecourse?? This game never ceases to amaze.

Good morning Magic, I might be biased? but watching the 2000 gns and the Derby, must say that the gns was quality and a great race, just looking at the track in USA with the tractors etc, just did not appeal to me.
Rainbow View bids to defend unbeaten record
RAINBOW VIEW was reported in top form on Saturday as she prepares to defend her unbeaten record in Sunday's Stanjames.com 1,000 Guineas.
The John Gosden-trained filly worked on the Rowley Mile during the Craven meeting and has done well since.
Gosden said on Sunday: "She has someone guarding her door and is very well.
"Her work has been very good, and she pleased me when she galloped here the other week - that took the fizz out of her.
"I also brought her across to the racecourse during the week to let her see the paddock again.
"She does get warm, and will do tomorrow, but the day she doesn't do, that is the day I will worry.
"The ground is genuine good to firm and if the weather stays like this it will be good to firm, firm in places by tomorrow.
"There is a chance of light drizzle tonight and I would say that will be very helpful for all of the horses."
No filly has started odds-on favourite for the 1,000 Guineas since Bosra Sham justified her 10-11 odds in 1996, but Rainbow View stands on the cusp of such illustrious billing.
She has been favourite for the Stanjames.com 1,000 Guineas since August 9, when she won the second of four outings last year in the Skybet.com Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket, immediately after which she was general 6-1 Guineas favourite.
Her odds have gradually contracted since, to the extent that she was on Saturday night even money with Totesport, and 11-10 with the vast majority of other firms.
Asked whether Rainbow View would start odds-on, Totesport's George Primarolo replied: "She could easily do. There are only a couple of horses against her and the opposition is beginning to dry up, with Serious Attitude beginning to drift.
"People have forgotten about the Guineas since the Nell Gywn, and when they sit down to have a proper look they'll probably not find much else to back."
Conversely, Laura Stephens, for the Guineas sponsor, who quote 11-10, said: "We think it is unlikely Rainbow View will be shorter than 11-10.
"Had Delegator won our liabilities would have been higher, but she could now be as big as 6-4.

The sloppy track was not ideal, agreed, but the weather is what it is and this is still a great Derby story whatever the future holds. Spare a thought for the breeder who lost money on the deal, hopefully he/she still has the mare. Amazing how breeders are always forgotten in all these heated punters v owners debates. The forgotten soldiers of the sport, sometimes!

Given a choice of anywhere on earth to base a racing operation of some substance I would probably pick France. Good prize money even at many lesser tracks, great Features, and you can raid anywhere if you have a suitable horse.

The thing that amazes me is that in a field of juveniles the English trainers seem to school their horses better than ours - have a look at how green our babies are considering the time of the season while in england the babies are just stepping out and look far more prepared than our lot- very difficult to make sense of form when babies that step out in May are still as green as those that have raced in December - perhaps this is where barrier trails would have a role to give the babies a chance to learn before they step out?

Very different training facilities may be a partial answer?

Maybe more trainers in the uk, specialising in training 2 year olds?
Trained to the minute to be re-sold,no time to be a baby in some big yards!
