Preakness heroes back galloping at Churchill
RACHEL ALEXANDRA and Mine That Bird, the first two home in the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico on Saturday, were back galloping at Churchill Downs on Wednesday morning.
Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird had arrived back at the track on Tuesday and was on Wednesday reported in "super" form by trainer Chip Woolley as he prepared his starfor the Belmont Stakes on June 6.
"We're really surprised that he's as fresh as he is after two good races," he said.
"The fortunate thing for us is he only runs three-eighths of a mile so he doesn't use himself as hard as some horses. So we're pretty happy with where we're at."
Rachel Alexandra, the first filly to win the Preakness since Nellie Morse in1924, galloped a mile on the fast track and is scheduled to stand in the stalls on Thursday morning before galloping again.
No decision has been made regarding a start in the Belmont for Rachel Alexandra, though trainer Steve Asmussen expressed the feeling that another start against males was less pressing now that she has defeated them.

Jackson delays Rachel Alexandra decision
THE owner of Preakness Stakes winner Rachel Alexandra, Jess Jackson, said on Monday that said no decision had been made about the star filly running in the Belmont Stakes on June 6.
Speaking after Rachel Alexandra worked over a half-mile in 51.2sec on sloppy going at Churchill Downs, Jackson who was on hand for the work, said: "It's too early. We can't make that decision until we know, and it's up to her.
"She will tell us. I can't take a chance on making that declaration yet. We're still considering it."
The Grade 1 Mother Goose Stakes for three-year-old fillies over 1m1f at Belmont Park, three weeks after the Belmont Stakes, is the other option for Rachel Alexandra.
Jackson added that the filly had come out of the Preakness in good order and said: "She thinks she can run through a brick wall."
The Belmont decision is particularly important to the connections of Kentucky Derby winner and Preakness second Mine That Bird, who would like to have jockey Calvin Borel back on their horse.
Borel rode Rachel Alexandra in preference to Mine That Bird in the Preakness.
Bennie ‘Chip' Woolley, trainer of Mine That Bird, said he wants a decision from Borel regarding the Belmont Stakes at some point on Monday.
