I might be wrong but I think jockey Carstens in an apprentice.
I remember seeing at Ashburton last week a young lad with "Carstens" written on his cap.

how senior? william carstens finished 5th in the kentucky derby in 1962 :)

Not quite...! Dave Carstens pops up here and there. He rode for a while in Zim. He also rode in Jhb and won on a Hollywood horse at the Vaal about 5 years ago.

Yes, Kuit recently worked for Doug Campbell and later for Weiho Marwing's Durban yard.
