Renaming them after the trainer may be considered by many to be preferable to renaming them after farmyard animals...but either way they do get noticed!

I did it as a play on words.
The way South Africans pronounce names where they leave off the last syllable on the first name and add it to the second name.
Mi (ke) Kazzie.

Without realising it Barry, in SA there is a saying "my cuzzie" (my cousin) which is quite commonly used as a term of endeerment for mates in the JHB region, which of course gives this name a double meaning.
Well done.

I see My Kazzie shortened in the betting.
She is also nominated for the Strelitzia together with Valetta.
Has Valetta run already or is first timers allowed in the Stretitzia.

My Cuzzie was the subject of a recent fine from the aeronautics board for flying too low without proper credentials.

Pirates --
Thanks for the info on the scratching. We were obviously concerned about scratched horses.
Makes our task somewhat easier. Pointing East is an expensive first-timer and obviously warrants respect. Our filly has improved by a few lengths on greenness alone and should go close to winning if not win.
It is obviously difficult to assess form and rate 2 year olds especially as they only had one or two runs.
