With the rain we had this afternoon and tonight and more forecasted tomorrow...racing will be seriously in doubt

Must say the weather up North has also been hectic.

The most useless racecourse on the planet. It would be much more useful as a vegetable patch.

southpaw they could race at clairwood today as apparently the track is in perfect condition...i cant tell you what the weather forecast is for sunday but i know the trainers wanted todays meeting moved to clwood but the authorities refused them ..this request was put in last week due to the poor racing surface at scotsville

Way too soon to tell, southpaw. I am fairly sure that racing today would have gone ahead at one of the Durban courses, because I don't think there has been quite as much rain here as up the road in Pmb, but anything can happen several times over between now and Sunday.

thanks guys, flying out from UK Friday and supposed to be going racing Sunday so hoping it doesn't pee down too much between now and then, good to hear Clairwood track is holding it's own for now. Also supposed to be going Scotsville following Sunday so will get to see this cabbage patch in the flesh for 1st time!

Southpaw, you lucky fish! As long as it doesn't get ten minutes of drizzle,,,mind you, the alternative at this time of year is heat that can cook a turkey in five minutes. Heads, you lose. Tails, you lose...
Personally, I think Pontefract in a snowstorm is more attractive than Scottsville in February, but I've never been to Ponty so I could be wrong!

Our hindsight scientists are at it again.
Had the meeting been moved a week back and Scottsville had a beautiful day today and Clairwood been drenched, then GC would have been clowns.
Interestingly Clairwood had 7 mm of rain overnight and I am sure it is pouring there right now.
Horseracing is Gold Circle's business and every effort is made for everybody's sake to ensure meetings happen.
C'mon chaps, give us a break.
