Just kidding couldnt miss the opportunity to have a laugh Shikar.
This seemed to be a great horse and it is a pity that we had to loose him to the Ausies. Would like to have seen him in the 08 July. A 3 way dead heat maybe?
All our great horses seem to go over seas never to be heard of again. Elusive Fort, Kildonan to name a few.
At least we will see Jay Peg and Desert Links and a few other big stars JJ? in action in Dubai again.

Elusive Fort has been running in the US, along with Jazzy and Woodland City.
I signed up for a 'virtual stable' at www.equibase.com and get e-mail notifications whenever they have workouts or race. Argonaut is in their database, but don't know if they'll include updates from Aus.

How has Elusive Fort performed over in the US. Who can ever forget the battles between him and Hunting Tower

If this is the case then surely the connections must be questioning the reason why they ever moved this horse from Woodruff and SA. Things go wrong this side too, but ets be honest moving a horse to Aus must be a costly affair.

Elusive Fort has been disappointing in the USA. He's had 6 starts there and only managed one 2nd place. That was in a Gr3 (Jan 2008, beaten half a length) in his second US start.
In his first US start, he was beaten under 3 lengths in an allowance plate by Einstein, winner of 2 Gr1's since then.
Two runs back he was 5th by under 2 lengths to Shakis in a Gr2.
Last time out he was 8th, beaten a bit more than 4 lengths in his first Gr1 since leaving SAf.
You can actually see his form at the Racing Post website.

FYI, Woodland City ran last night and was unplaced. She ran one decent race for us, never won and has been retired. She is sound, looks well, trains brilliantly, but her mind is not in the game anymore.
As for Jazzy, she was a big-time winner last year twice. This year, she did not win, although she placed several times and raced in tough luck a lot of times when she encountered traffic trouble. We plan to race her a few times over the winter then breed her.
It has been my experience that the very top horses from South Africa can run well anywhere, but those just below the top struggle with rare exceptions.
