Assisted Suicide?
6 days 17 hours ago
Hi Clan,
Not much posting from me this week — it seems one ailment after another has cropped up since my hospital stay.
The latest is an eye problem 👁 — I’ve got what feels like a black cloud over one eye 🤨.
Saw a specialist, but no luck so far. It looks like a damaged nerve behind the eye might be to blame.
I’ve already had several expensive tests (sadly not covered by medical aid), and now the suggestion is to take 18 tablets a day for 8 days… now I know where the Horse 🐎 got its name 🤣.
Mrs S has, once again, been superb in her support. She even asked what I’d like for Sunday lunch. My choice? Beef Wellington, the Australian version — hoping it might turn my luck around.
The subject line might sound a touch melodramatic, but I came across this ad and thought it was brilliant — right up my alley, given my sense of humour. David Mitchell at his very best 👌.
Good punting 👍

Dignified Death
We have an unfortunate habit of hiding our queasiness behind polite euphemisms. We dont speak of hungry kids but of austerity. We don’t fire people we right-size them. And the worst example assisted suicide.
As if a human life lived with struggle, triumph, and absurdity, should be reduced in its final days. Suicide suggests despair and failure. It drags the act into a gutter, as though the dying are broken, rather than making a choice with clarity and courage.
A better phrase? Dignified Death.
Because that is what it is, not jumping from a bridge, but the deliberate decision of a human being refusing to let age punish their final hours. It is our last dignified last act.
The trouble, of course, is that governments and churches recoil from the idea of dignity at the point of death they would prefer the illusion of control, insisting on machines, tubes, and religious mumblings while a body dies in slow motion. They hide this cruelty behind sanctimonious words like sanctity of life, as if sanctity exists in drool, diapers, and drugged oblivion.
If I have the right to choose how we live, then surely I should have the right to choose how to stop living. To call this suicide is nonsense. It diminishes. It insults. A dignified death, on the other hand, is my final exercise of will, the last human freedom one last, refusal to play the victim.

Morning guys and really appreciate your inputs.
I am seeing the correct professionals at Centurion eye Institute.
Have had my head in more machines than Ka Ying Rising has been in the number one box.
Blood test were not good and I am going for ultra sound check.
Have never been right since the mystery virus after leaving hospital 🏥
Cheers Dave
