Would be educational for a next time if the good with his trained eye (pardon the pun) could share what he observed.

.....instinct or intuition drew me to this particular race as I favored Neerah of the 3 Botes runners and the lurk could have been that Strydom as on the wrong one....was watching and rooting for Neerah and did not see if there was anything untowards with the ride on the favorite but doubt if the jock was in on it.....

Were all the horses ridden to achieve their best possible placing? Watch replay here.

Now tell me the 2nd horse was given every chance to win, watch the head on!!! Only placed in contention inside 200m mark, followed every bad horse till then?
And kept walking in the betting.

Strawberry Thief I gather.
More alarming for me is how the bookies actually get the information that a horse is a non trier or coming to the races in poor condition.
No ways will the bookies drift a Richard Fourie horse out to 12-1 from 28-10 if they didn't hear something.

Durbs, the bookies don't get info, they just don't take any money.. And then the faces will be all over others

......the bigger online bookies may not be getting any info nor brown bagging work riders/jocks etc.....but there are those that do.....so when the top dogs price up and make a certain jocks mounts way shorter.....it is the lack of money support from the brown bagger/s who in the know do not need to lay off any action.....I for one saw no need to include Fourie's mount as it had imo very little form appeal.... yet the commentator reconned that there was a hard luck story in running.....in other words making an excuse for it not running a place......but the major drift in betting looks to others rather suspicious.....

I have never seen such drastic betting changes as those that happen now, I understood in the past that a horse would drift in the betting because it went down looking a bit short or scratchy. Nowadays the betting moves are dramatic and i cannot apply any logic as some horses drift from 5/1 to 12/1 and win or lose and some are punted from 7/1 into 5/2 and win or lose. This is happening regardless of how they go down to the start. I have started watching more replays to try and assess why because i believe that every jock has bad and good rides but when there are simultaneous betting moves then i tend not to believe in pure coincidence.
