I Believe in Father Christmas on Boxing Day 🤣
Good morning, fellow punters!
I hope everyone will have a wonderful family Christmas.🙏
After we wrap up the festivities, it’s time to gear up for some thrilling racing action on Boxing Day, traditionally the biggest day for racing in the UK.
Let’s start with today’s rescheduled WSB big race (weather permitting). Fingers crossed for Total Surrender from the Houdalakis yard to put up a solid each-way performance at around 66/1. 🐎
At Hollywood Greyville, keep an eye on Zelta Star and Celtic Beauty, who both look like strong contenders.
The Boxing Day Focus:
Kempton Park steals the spotlight with a clash of champions in the Christmas Hurdle—Lossiemouth vs Constitution Hill.
This four-horse race is a must-watch. While Burdett Road and Lump Sum are solid entries, the real battle lies between the big two.
Lossiemouth: Match-fit and in superb form, the Mouth gets my vote.
Constitution Hill: Coming off a year’s break, it may be a tough ask to hold off Lossiemouth, but don’t count the Hill out for a thrilling finish.
This race could set the stage for the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Even if the Hill narrowly loses, the rematch could be a different story.
Elsewhere at Kempton, The Jukebox Man and Kientzheim look like solid bankers.
In the King George, with no Willie Mullins runners, the race is wide open. Watch out for the French contender Il Est Francais, but pack your exotic bets with plenty of runners.
Mullins will instead focus on Leopardstown, where Redemption Day is his standout entry.
Note the 27th where Gaelic Warrior runs
28th Brighterdaysahead in the Hurdle and Fact to File vs Galopin Des Champs in the Chase.
Have been checking for the Hollywood horse IL ETAIT TEMPS but maybe have to wait for Cheltenham.
Queen mother possible but Ryanair a better option 😉
Other Boxing Day Meetings:
Sedgefield
Wetherby
Aintree
Fontwell
Market Rasen
Wincanton
Wolverhampton
Down Royal
Limerick
A true feast of racing awaits!
Song of the Day:
For today’s tune, I’ve chosen a classic that brings back memories of watching Greg Lake (RIP) of Emerson, Lake & Palmer fame, and Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.
