SCOTIA ON THE CHARITY MILE WEEKEND.

Good morning to the CLAN and hope you are geared up for a Super Saturday?
I must say that I think the big "T" will be the place to be and I am looking forward to a fun filled social experience and a chance to meet some "stars", Gajima, Oscar, Zoro, SAPO1, Elvis, Powerofone etc, just to mention a few.
As far as the race is concerned, I find it very difficult, and think anything could arrive?
She's on Fire, Fair Brutus and Thandolwami all have CLAN connections, so this should make a rather large trifecta.
On the subject of the site, you may have read that I was hoping for a good October as far as "unique" visitors, not sure about unique, but have a few "strange" ones! and I am glad to report, have broken my previous record of 4,246 for the month of June and was hoping to break 5,000, and in fact have broken the "6,000" mark, so thanks again for the support, but still rather disappointed that many still view and don't post. I am also aware that certain viewers have been advised not to post, which is a sad situation, however life goes on and so will the site, against negative sentiment I remain positive to ensure "the punter has a voice" and if the racing authorities continue to avoid transparency and normal communications,so be it!
I for one am having a fun time racing and can only say the box at the big "T" has added a new dimension to the sport, and it has certainly been "Lucky" for the partners and visitors, in addition, catering and attention from Clare and her team has been superb.
I must again thank my sponsors, Interbet, Sportsbet, Betxchange (Keith Ho), and in addition Blackpearlbetting and Hollywoodbets for some future considerations, which should help with the stability and future growth of the site.
It was sad to see the pictures of Newmarket's final downfall and I am sure it brought back many happy memories of night racing when the Alberton track was in full swing and to see the "rubble" brought a tear to many an eye.
The current competition comes to a close this weekend and the punters are still firing on 20/1 shots to the death, but don't worry if you win lose or draw, I have another big prize to follow for next month, but just considering the structure.
I would request you visit the site on the subject of UK racetracks vs SA racetracks and give me your thoughts and views, even the ones that cant post, please send me an email.
The Melbourne Cup is on Tuesday and I still fancy Septimus to win another Group One for O'Brien, it looks like he wont break the record of 25 as he is on 22, but what a great season he has given the punters that follow his horses.
I also have a big night this evening, where our local steak braai scenario has been upgraded to add prawns and a live band, so as they say in the Classics "everything points to happiness".
Plus remember that Clan Classique is running on Wednesday!
Good punting and may your God be with you.

Looking forward to the big weekend too. Here we go into the summer of racing and it starts this weekend. How great will it be to see the big guns and future big guns firing on Super Saturday in SA.
In my opinion watch out for the KZN raiders in the big one. Robbie "the Carryover Killer" "Not over the" Hill is one of SA's best IMO. This Jockey is Mr Cool when it comes to riding winners. Such a relaxed unpunishing style. Great jock. The biggest lurker in the field is Tropical Empire. A fast finishing second behind Desert Links in the Cup trial is the line that excites me. I was at Clairwood on the day. It was great to see former riding adversaries Basil Marcus and Michael Roberts standing side by side in a photo in the first and second box.
A note for Scotia and his efforts to maintain what we have here. Thank yo very much for providing an avenue to allow us, as lovers of horseracing, to air our views. This site has been on some rocky roads and survived. Its through Scotia and others commitment to keep it afloat, you the readers visits and you the posters posts. I encourage you the reader to come out of the dark and post. Express yourself. You are after all a stakeholder as you spend hard earned rands on the sport and your views do matter, no matter what anybody thinks. The authorities do also read these posts and do consider what is said. Just think before you write. You are entitled to opinion but there is no need to attack and no need to be overly sensitive.
Its a great place to find intellectual conversation on varying topics, and sometimes it shifts from racing to politics but always ends up where it should be and that is racing.
I do realise that there are a lot that don’t post but it would be great for the advertisers if we could push up the hit stats with new people. I do try and let others who are interested in racing know about the site, but there are not many on the coast who are truly interested in racing and that is why I belong to ABC. I would never be able to discuss Zenyatta / Zarkova / Curlin / Big Brown with mates or even in a tote for that matter, as most of my mates don’t follow racing and the players in the tote are only concerned with next race or the horse that they “were going to select” in the previous race. I ask you to promote it too.
There is not much that can be done about what people will post and we have to accept that to an extent, but people will always have conflicting views and some are obviously able to control themselves better than others. Some of the views on Freeracer could also be frowned upon yet the site still receives vast amounts of exposure on Tellytrack. ABC is like a swear word and even ABC owners avoid mentioning us during interviews in fear of being associated with the “Devils spawn”. That probably needs to change. In my view, if you want to be a member of the site don’t be shy to wave its flag.
I am glad that the people that control racing read our site and I hope that they seriously consider our views and not just wipe them aside because they emanate from our site.
ABC and its posters are not the magic wand that will heal racing but we are not the disease that infects it either. Apathy is that disease.
God bless to all of you, GC and P included
