Reelin in the Years: Guineas weekend.
1 year 4 months ago
It's another special sporting weekend.
The time just flies and the years are just reelin in π’
We have just finished a spectacular Cape season and now we are back up North for the Gauteng Guineas.
We have a full press release on the site of all the events covered over the next few months but let's focus on Saturday's card and hopefully some punter friendly results at last π
As normal the pick 6 is the target.
We have our old friend Zeus in the opener and I think we can banker this one and I'm sure the lads will give an enthusiastic welcome when he arrives in the number one box.
Second leg: Lady Fallon should go close but add a few others.
Third Leg: Gimme A Nother is a potential banker for MDK and Mary Slack deserves the accolades, could also be a MDK trifecta or even quartet?
Forth Leg: Sandringham Summit is another potential banker but be aware of the money for the Peter's runner William Iron Arm as the stable will have a line via Main Defender plus, Purple Pitcher is no slouch.
Fifth leg: is where we can get a result but you must include at least Cousin Casey, Unzen, Puerto, Safe Passage and Dave the King.
Last leg: take the field and stand in the queue.
As far as other options this weekend are concerned.
PE today
Mitchley should have a great day with Muzi and the ever consistent El Romiachi can earn again π€
I did suggest a wee punt on SA the other day and we wish them well on Saturday against Cape Verde. SA moved from 50/1 to around 12/1 after beating Morroco. Nigeria are 2/1 fav to lift the Cup.
We will have UK updates on the site but note at Leopardstown on Saturday we have Marina Nationale and Galopin Des Champs both can improve their Cheltenham chances.
As far as the Premier league it's Arsenal vs Liverpool on Sunday.
Man City remain 8/10 tops with Liverpool 2/1 best with the Gunners on double figures.
It's also the start of the six nations tonight.
France are the 12/10 favs
Scotland are 10/1 ish.
Remember to register to vote this weekend as someone has to give the ANC a run for their money.
I don't think I have met anyone black or white that has said anything positive about the ANC over the last few years, however they still manage to get votesπ³
I probably can't say black or white these days and notice my grandkids say brown and peach.
Grandad is banned from asking about yellow people or if any of the St Mary's girls are planning a pair of balls before matric π€
Sad old world we live in.
As far as my post on assisted suicide goes, I have had a few interesting discussions and many are anti this option as they believe only God can make that call.
On the other hand we have Russia/ Ukraine and the Middle East and other war torn areas where hundreds of thousands of healthy men, woman and children are being slaughtered on a daily basis and the World just accepts that the rulers of these countries can just make the call or push a button. π€¬ or should I say they act like God.
So it's OK to murder innocent, heathy people but unacceptable to allow a sick family member who is in unbearable pain and who probably doesn't know who you are to pass away peacefully.
On a happier note!
Here is a special band made up of some of my favourite artists over the years.
The Dukes of September, give them a check after racing.
Good Punting π

Results have been diabolical to say the least - but as it goes every one and his dog will take big P6s only for all the favorites to trot up - in R4 Zeus should be one of those - but if you check the results in the Summer Cup, he is not 'home and hosed' at the weights; the 5th imo a typical F&M handicap (Field & more); Gimme A Nother has the rest stone cold on form, not a great draw but she should still run them down (unless she gets too far back, but I don't see it); Sandringham Summit is not an easy ride imo - something often goes pear-shaped and I could be wrong, but I think any of Purple Pitcher of Gimmeanotherchance (I am willing to give that one 'another chance' in his 2nd start after being gelded) can win - and then to be safe it's not clever to leave out the Peter runner; the 8th has an open look about it, but I think one could do worse than include Humdinger - even though the runners of the de Kock stable were disappointing (to put it mildly) yesterday - best weighted and 1400 is her game and JP rides; the last looks a field race - again the de Kock runner with JP up is a definite inclusion in my book
