Well Done NHA
1 year 4 months ago
So the owners of Bavarian Beauty have commended the NHA for alerting them that they were at risk of contravening the “spelling farm duration rule”.
Excellent, so Nadal is at risk of a time violation on serve and the umpire shouts Hurry Up , I’m going to fault to you. He serves an ace. Walks over and shakes the umpires hand.
Is this fair? Where do you draw the line. What’s next ? Reminding a jockey he hasn’t weighed in or a trainer that he hasn’t put the blinkers on?

Agree with the comments made but can you imagine the outcry if this horse was scratched in the aftermath of what has gone before. Think for once the NHA did the right thing to put out the spark before it became another raging inferno.

Well done to the NHA.
I think making them heros for doing their job is a stretch. It makes perfect sense that they should be tracking the horse. These are people that are harassing the trainer 24/7 why wouldnt they continue? To allow the filly to do something in contravention of the rules would be entrapment.
Let me say that I also wouldn't want to stable at Kenilworth if I were Peter. Just have a listen to the Bortz speech at the Cape Breeders awards last year where he pronounces them cheaters and says theres no place for them in the Cape. I wonder if they will be denying them buyers cards at todays sale? Wouldn't it be fantastic if this filly won just to see the squirm?

Might as well scrap this rule now as they will struggle to use it against other trainers in future.
The NHAs poor leadership and decision making has led to this preoccupation with one family. The industry as a whole will eventually suffer for this.

The hearing didn't start due to a conflicted board being appointed. More shambles caused by a clearly incompetent NHA.
