PRESS RELEASE   FINDINGS OF PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE  The National Horseracing Authority confirms a Prohibited Substance finding which is aligned with its decision to publish the status of all Prohibited Substance matters from the commencement of the new Racing Season. The presence of Meloxicam (Class 4) was disclosed upon analysis of a specimen taken from TCHAIVOKSKYprior to the running of Race 4, New Turf Carriers Merchants (Grade 3), at Turffontein Racecourse on 25 November 2023.  The Trainer responsible, Mr T Zackey, elected to sign an Admission of Guilt and was fined an amount of R35 000.   TCHAIVOKSKY is accordingly disqualified from the race in terms of Rule 72.3.2. This finding will be recorded in the NHA Racing Calendar.   Enquiries:A D HydeRacing Control Executive

The horse finished 2nd,but more importantly the press release reads "taken before the running of the race" so the question is why did they scratch Tony Peter's runners on Summer Cup day? They could have taken specimens before and let his horses run.

.....Tony Peter did offer willingly to have his horses all tested on that infamous day.....but what the NHRA did or did not do has led to a situation that will remain a dark stain on our horse racing history....this matter and other knee jerk actions  like Co2 testing only goes to show the desperation for the NHRA to redeem itself in being racing's savior but has fallen into an incompetent mess.....as for this positive a rather balanced review by SP contributor Chris Swart who has detailed rather well in his comments on the matter.....my opinion.... pet medication again....the sooner that trainers and other role players realize that while the NHRA is on a drive to clean up racing and build a war chest they will leave no stone unturned....and what one got away with in the past ...is past

My apologies I have the dates all wrong, this positive came from Summer Cup day where the horse was tested pre race and ran last Mr Zackey got a fine ,so my question is Tony Peter's runners were also tested and there has been no notification that any of his horses came back positive surly the blood samples from Tony's runners would have been in the same batch sent off for testing

.....still the NHRA only started on its accelerated crusade when the rumbling down south got them to pull finger....but then only the positives make the headlines..... all the others land up under the carpet with all the other sh1t they care not to mention.....
