Kings Plate 2024
1 year 6 months ago
Is anyone planning to attend - because Cape Racing is not making it easy - at the moment it seems one has a choice of purchasing a ticket for the 'Style Village' - at R500 a pop this will get you entry and being able to view the 'veteran' cars - AND the After-Party; if that's not your cup of tea, one can buy a ticket for the 'Stud Club' at R1,600 a pop - this at least buys one as many Heinekens one can drink and some Anthonie Rupert wines (provided I think you order those before 17:30) - as an added bonus a 'light lunch' will be served (PLUS of course attending the After-Party'' ......
All I want is to attend the event and watch some top-quality horse-flesh in action - a decent meal would also not be out of place - I'm really not interested in attending the 'After-Party' - but the options seem limited ?

I am quite excited about the Car Display. Assume other packages sold out or reserved for the Ladididas who know the other ladididas
Stud Club
Due to it's position and unbeatable atmosphere, the Stud Club is the most popular hospitality marquee at the L'Ormarins King's Plate. Over looking the track, this limited area is host to race-goers who want a prime racing position right in the middle of the buzz of the L'Ormarins King's Plate - with all the added luxuries. At R1, 600 your ticket will include:
- An exclusive, secure and private area in a prime location along the rail
- A decorated area with private bars, private totes, lounge areas and cocktail seating
- Selected complimentary Anthonij Rupert wines and Heineken beer, as well as a private cash bar
- Complimentary light lunch and snacks will be served
- Entrance into the Style Lounge Village and the Stud Club for access to the horse racing as well as the after party
- Access to car displays by the Franschhoek Motor Museum
- Parking on the in-field at Kenilworth Racecourse, guests are urged to use taxi services which will be present on the day
- All guests must park, or be dropped off and collected on the inner field at Kenilworth Racecourse, off Wetton Road. There are no pedestrian entrances or other drop off zones anywhere else at the course and ticketing will only happen on the inner field

I contacted Cape Racing - apparently because of the renovations, your choice of attending is limited to the 'Style Village' or the 'Stud Club'; Peninsula Room is reserved for Cape Turf Club members and the other available room (1880 ?) is reserved for owners (I think of runners on the day)
So I guess I'll watch on the Telly - even though I am in the Cape that time
