While coverage behind the stalls at Greyville race 8 was no doubt meant to show the horses for my benefit. I found myself engrossed in two ladies trying to unwind a roll of yellow tape or such. For what i am not sure but lets just say the roll of tape won and the race jumped without them completing their task.
I saw that too and although it looked very funny, i immediately thought something else too having watched the stalls crews at Hong Kong and the UK specifically. Their enthusiasm and application for the job that they do is very admirable . Then you see something like this yesterday and cringe. Their body language alone left much to be desired and clearly there was little to no interest in what they were doing. It became downright embarrassing to watch eventually
I assume those pictures are broadcasted abroad so imagine that :pinch:
