# Turffontein Inside Tuesday 29 August 2023 – Comments by Andrew Harrison

RACE 1

Summary: A couple of well-bred first timers here so keep an eye on the betting. CRIMSON FOREST (3) comes from the very much in form Paul Matchett/Philsande Mxoli combination. She found trouble at the start on debut and is sure to come on from that effort. RIGHT TURN ON RED (8 ) raced green in a promising debut and should improve on that effort. SHINE IN MEMPHIS (9) disappointed second time out after a smart debut effort and can make amends. Of the first timers VENETIAN MOONLIGHT (10) appeals. (Andrew Harrison: 3-8-9-10).

RACE 2

Summary: COPPER MIST (3) showed up nicely in his last two over further. Drops in trip and should be involved. SOVEREIGN CALL (10) was slowly away and raced green on debut. He can make big improvement. Stable companion FAST DUTY (2) is quick but tends to lack extra late. TRIP TO STATES (1) is lightly raced. Had excuses last run and has a chance on previous. (Andrew Harrison: 3-10-2-1).

RACE 3

Summary: OUTER DIMENSION (9) was a beaten even money favourite at her second start but raced very green. She looks held by ANNEWITHAN E (7) who made major improvement at long odds after returning from a break but the addition of blinkers to Outer Dimension could see the tables turned. LADY DYNAMO (1) has been knocking at the door and can finish in the money. (Andrew Harrison: 9-7-1-6).

RACE 4

Summary: Small field where tactics will be paramount. ANGEL’S WISH (3) stays well and shows good current form. She cast a shoe last run and has Richard Fourie aboard. PRINCESS KESH (2) has put in two good efforts for Heather Adamson. The blinkers come off as she goes an extra 600m but she seldom runs a poor race. KIND JUDY (1) is 1kg better off with Princess Kesh on their last meeting so there should not be much between the two. (Andrew Harrison: 3-2-1).

RACE 5

Summary: Tricky handicap. SUMMER FLING (3) takes on males but is down in class and has her third run after a break. Comes from a very much in form stable. BLACK LIGHTNING (2) has been runner-up at his last two. Took on stronger last outing and a repeat should see him close. ADMIRAL’S RANSOM (7) is a PE raider who won first time out for his new stable. Muzi Yeni stays with the ride which could prove significant. FOLLOW MY PATH (8 ) found good betting support last outing but returned with a nose injury. He has a handy weight and can do better this time around. (Andrew Harrison: 3-2-7-8 ).

RACE 6

Summary: SHARAPOVA (4) will be a popular banker as she has not been out of the money in six starts. She was narrowly beaten when returning from a break and should strip a lot fitter. GOLDEN ASPEN (3) was nearly four lengths back to Sharapova when they met last. The former is now 2.5kg better off at the weights which could make things interesting. RATTLE BAG (5) is consistent and jumps in class but does take a corresponding drop in weight which should see her competitive. (Andrew Harrison: 4-3-5-1).

RACE 7

Summary: Big stakes for a modest line-up where QHAWE LAMI (1) could prove difficult to beat. He was second best behind the smart filly Golden Tatjana in a similar event at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time out and both of his wins have come on this course. Stable companions DHONI (5) and ZENOBIA’S GOLD (10) are both still maidens but finished within a neck of each other in the race won by Golden Tajana. The former was short in the market that day and has a chance given his smart debut effort. RICHARD THE FIRST (2) is the only other winner in the race and made sudden improvement when prevailing by a neck last time out. (Andrew Harrison: 1-5-10-2).

RACE 8

Summary: COSMIC STAR (1) was a beaten favourite last run but only went down narrowly. He meets a useful field here but can make amends. There should be little between POWER BROKER (2) and BLACK EGRET (3). There was a neck separating them last time out and Black Egret is now 1kg better off in the handicap. ZINOVI (6) has breathing issues but showed up nicely in his first run back after a four-month break. He should come on from that effort and has a handy galloping weight. (Andrew Harrison: 1-2-3-6).

RACE 9

Summary: SUCCESSFUL SECRET (3) has been taking on stronger of late and it is best to ignore his last run which was way below par. Gavin Lerena takes over in the saddle from an apprentice and we can expect better. ZIYASHA (2) is back on home soil after two useful KZN performances. He is lightly raced and improving so must have a strong chance. Roy Magner has a brace of runners, both in with chances. SUPER AWESOME (4) was an easy recent maiden winner and had steady form before that. He could have the measure of older stable companion STORMY SEAS (1). (Andrew Harrison: 3-2-4-1).

Banker of the day trained by De Kock easily beaten.
Winner very well backed.Trainers not scared to put their money down when up against a De Kock favorite nowadays.

Durba quite right.
I still think the bookies got beat in that race...cant see any punters punting Sharapova at that price

They where trying to entice the punters by drifting and if you had to listen to some tipsters you would have thought it was Christmas with the price they where offering come race time.
Yes I think the bookies lost due to the winner being heavily backed but I'm sure they got some back offering even money on De Kock's horse.

Dave you do well with your UK tips only to get stuffed by our local racing.
I don't trust our racing these days as anything can win and anything can lose due to the quality regressing fast.
